I am always so nervous with “wedding food” especially chicken, however guests were raving about how good the chicken, salmon, and grilled mushroom was at our wedding! Highly recommend and staff were so kind and professional! -

We enjoyed the food it was excellent. What out guests didn't enjoy was the warm beer and catering staff taking half filled cups and emptying them before guests could finish. We also felt that they were rushing us out at the end of the night. Clean up was to stat at 11 and the staff stating at 10 and we felt pushed out by 11. -

We worked with Bytown due to their exclusive-use contract with our venue (Fort Henry), but have absolutely regrets about doing so! Despite some delay in communication at the beginning, they were incredibly helpful through every step of the process. With the rising cost of food/groceries, this was by far our greatest expense, however they offer a great variety of options to fit every budget. We had a number of guests attend with food allergies and dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate everyone's needs safely - they even went above and beyond to include a separate dessert for a small portion of our guests who were dairy-free/celiac. All of their staff were so incredibly lovely and professional, their bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable, everything ran so smoothly and efficiently, and all the food was delicious! The added bonus for us was their large selection of dishware, flatware, and table linens they offer for rental, which allowed us to customize our venue space with our own flare while also reducing the number of vendors we needed to juggle (which definitely helped things run more smoothly the day of). Even though we didn't get a choice of caterer, we would certainly choose Bytown again! -

I had ByTown as the catering vendor for my wedding at Fort Henry. I chose the ByTown Elite Cocktail Party package, which cost about $70 per person. Before January 2024, the price was originally around $57 per person. Although they warned us that the price might increase "slightly," it ended up being a significant increase, forcing us to cut back on our guest numbers to stay within budget.
Be prepared to negotiate with this vendor. My email chain shows well over 25 back-and-forth exchanges with the sales representative assigned to me in order to get my quote to where I wanted it. I found that they either overlooked or forgot to account for the number of children I specified in the guest count. The agent had included them in the pricing for the Elite Cocktail package at $70 per child. When I pointed out that I had been specific about the number of children attending because they wouldn’t eat the elaborate food offered to the adults, they adjusted the quote to a more reasonable charge of $40 per child for chicken strips. This is an example of why it’s important to be prepared to negotiate, ask questions, and clarify anything you’re unsure of.
If you want real glassware they charged for the use of real glassware, which added about $960 to the quote (including the charge for glassware and $30 per hour for bussers to collect it). My solution was to use glassware as wedding favors, which cost $300 for 100 glasses (1/3rd of the cost).
The food was fantastic, and the service was amazing. Just be prepared to negotiate with your sales rep to ensure you're getting the most value for your money, as this will likely be the biggest expense for your entire wedding (it made up roughly one-third of my wedding expenses). -

We had a bit of a hiccup when our original person was no longer working there where we didn’t know who to contact but once that was figured out everything went smoothly, we opted to not do dinner and instead cocktail hour and a evening buffet, we spent more on catering then we did on food, the food was delicious but I felt a little expensive for what we went with. -

I have been on both sides of the Beavertails by Bytown Catering experience.
As a cook and as a loyal customer.
The Staff are very friendly and the Food is always Fresh and just the way you like it.
The food is priced right and as a customer first and foremost I would highly recommend the Canadian Experience to have a yummy Beavertail with any one of our locations.
I promise they don’t Disappoint! -

The food was so good! Our guests kept commenting on how good the food was! They were great to work with. It was wonderful to have the chef out helping serve the food. I was happy I got a chance to talk to him and thank him in person for the amazing meal.
The service was okay, however there were a few comments from our guests that the waitstaff didn’t look like they wanted to be there. There were also some misses, such as when I asked for a spoon for one of the dips, I was looked at like it was a strange request. And there was no cream/milk on the tables, and when asked for it, it took a long time to come, in fact even more coffee and tea was being brought around again before the cream/ milk was. It was also frustrating that if I would get pulled away for a quick second my food would immediately disappear.
Our wish was that someone would have told some one to make an announcement when food is being taken away so everyone had a chance to get things. And we wished that they had made more of an announcement about the midnight snack being served.
Aside from those couple things it was awesome! -

Been working back and forth with Odette who is very personable and friendly. She has made this transaction and locking down our catering date smooth and easy, looking forward to tasting the food on our wedding day next fall :)
