Black Sheep Events Catering has recently catered our wedding, and I can't possibly say enough about the food and service. From the initial connection, the planning for our needs and wants, food trial, service at the wedding and the actual meal, everything was amazing.
Michael and his team were the talk of the evening. We had arranged a buffet setup for our (relatively small) group, and our guests were up refilling their plates over and over again - nothing but happy faces and compliments. Several even commented about this being the best meal they've ever had at a wedding.
The food was so fresh, delicious and in every way better than we could have even imagined. For our mains we had ordered the Truffle Gnocchi (guests wanted to "bathe" in them), the Shortribs (most melt in your mouth shortribs you'll ever have - these were gone almost immediately) and Chicken Picatta (so fresh, moist and lemony!!), and although we had made sure we had far more food than we potentially needed, we had barely anything left over at the end of the evening which was a great sign. One of our salads was a beet salad and it was so good I'm pretty sure it actually changed how some people felt about beets. Everything was top-notch - the compliments literally flowed all night, we are still hearing about how good the meal was and I'm sure our friends and family will be bringing it up plenty more times in the next months.
Also the two gentlemen Michael had helping coordinate the buffet were so lovely, professional and friendly. They worked very hard to make sure everything was perfect, everyone was happy and taken care of, and the meal really went off without a hitch.
We can very confidently say we had the best wedding dinner we could have possibly imagined - I'm convinced we will be dreaming of the Gnocchi and the Short Ribs the rest of our days. Michael and his team catered our son’s July 5th stand up wedding reception at our home. They did an amazing job! The food was absolutely delicious - so many guests commented on how great the food was. His charcuterie board was lovely and all the food was beautifully presented. The servers were so friendly and efficient. Used plates and glasses were tidied up quickly.
Michael was very helpful in the planning and so accommodating to all our needs. He was organized and so easy to work with. And at the end of the evening, it was all cleaned up.
We couldn’t be happier with how it all came together.

Mike and his team were the hidden gem of a hard and discouraging search for a caterer that would listen to, and help advise us on a perfect menu for our wedding. I was a cook in another life; and seeing the passion and desire to bring about our perfect plan, on a tight budget, made me miss the fire and stress but I'll leave that to the professionals now.
The team, day of, were amazing in servicing and helping clear the dishes and were always so nice to chat with and I still can not thank them enough for everything.
As for the nitty gritty of the food; well I had a plan for prime rib and chicken florentine with fondant potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts and some sort of salad and then a taco bar snack. Lofty plans for a tight budget, but with a couple tweaks and compromises, we came together on a menu to stun. Day of, and I have not heard so many compliments on food in my life! Dinner started on time, went off without a hitch and was by far the best start to a party I've ever had.
Dinner cleared, tables cleared, party starts and there's the team still on the grind and putting out a taco bar snack that can only be compared to the authentic restaurants I've worked at in Vancouver. And the kitchen was clean and clear before the tacos had time to cool.
I cannot thank and recommend Mike and Black Sheep Events enough for providing the best food and experience we had in our wedding journey. A true professional with a passion unmatched. Once again, sir, I thank you.
