Total scam!! She was a no show to the reception. After checking her Facebook page we found she was having too much fun at her cottage to be bothered showing up or answering her phone. Ended up having to order pizza to feed our guests. One week later and she still won’t answer her phone or reply to emails or Facebook messages. We are out our $868.00 plus another $300.00 in pizza expense. Upon further investigation, we have found she does this consistently. She has scammed 3 of us in the last 2 weeks. I guess that’s how she pays for the cottage, boat, canoes, etc. This woman should not have a job in any service oriented business.

Even though ace of hearts catering took a nail drive it doesn't mean renee ( the owner) has tried to fix things. She has paid back all of her deposits back and has re lifted herself back up. Every business takes a nose dive sometimes and unfortunately can't do what is necessary to maintain a good position.
Now. Saying that..again..she has returned all the deposits back that were lost and when ace of hearts was on top it was happenin'. Weddings. Gatherings. Bithday party's. All up to 500 people.
Dressed to success. Her staff were lovely and the people loved her fine desplay of different colours for different events.
The tables were set to adress the queen..except without the China.
Anyway. I just wanted to say. Because of a few bad mistakes and a few bad remarks, it doesn't make this company a bad team to work with.

I'll I can say is this is a SCAM company. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS BUSINESS. They are no show, no contact once they receive your deposit. Made deposit as requested of $531.25 and have been emailing for over a month to provide confirmation of event date and invoice to ensure we were booked for our event with also leaving several messages with no reply leaving us high and dry for a party having 60 guest and now the voicemail is full as they have probably done the same to many other people. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY IN ANY WAY. Weddingwire.ca you need to remove them from your list of caterers.

I had a terrible experience with Ace of Hearts caterer advertised via wedding wire. I will have to post something on website. ong story but ended up firing ‘Ace of hearts catering’,
It took me awhile, from March 17th, 2019 to just recently, to get my $400.00 deposit back, deposited in November 2018.
I had to do a lot of work to complete the dispute forms with MC. Fired March 17th. For an August 2019 wedding. I eventually got my deposit back via a submitted dispute through Mastercard. MC.

Many reasons/?excuses were given for rebooking the tasting appointments by the caterer re were made, and then finally, the last straw - was a NO SHOW on a tasting date 17 March 2019 with no call, text or e-mail notification.
Prior tasting appointments for Ace of Hearts, Renne Horrock had many excuses for rebooking:
• Strep tooth & infected tooth
• Car didn’t work in the shop
• Family member ill in ER ,
• Etc. etc.
• Then a no show for March 17th.

Ridiculous and very unprofessional.
Horrible experience.
Just glad I had time to round up another great caterer from Lindsay Ontario.

A very disappointing day. Renee and her company were a no show for our event with 80 guests. Despite multiple emails and phone calls to make the arrangements for catering, bartending and serving, as well as the deposit being accepted, Renee and team did not show up and had the nerve to say the event “did not ring a bell” when my brother finally spoke with her. She has hung up on my mother who organized the event on 3 occasions, and has ignored multiple other phone calls.
This apparently is not uncommon for this company to no show and then ghost the client.
Reading other reviews on various sites is a mix of bad and good. The good ones are amusing when you figure out that they are family of the company and Renee herself! Laughable. They should be out of business for essentially stealing people’s money.

My wedding was in August 2018. One month before the wedding I had to cancel the caterer I had booked. My niece found Ace of spades and Renee went above and beyond to help me. With only 1 months notice she flawlessly was able to take care of everything for over 200 people. We had BBQ chicken & Ribs. Loaded potatoes, Alredo lasagna salads deserts, 2 cooks & 4 servers at such a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Everyone loved the food. I never heard one complaint from anyone. I've already given her number out to friends and the venue we had our wedding at Balsam Resort in Fenlon falls has also been recommending them. Thank you again Renee and Staff for making my wedding a success.

Ace of Hearts catered our wedding on September 15th, 2018, and they really did a fantastic job with everything. The dinner was excellent, and the custom cake we requested really exceeded our expectations - the castle and topper were so cool!

Renee worked with us during the entire process to help ensure that we met our budget and kept everyone well fed. She dealt with at least five separate menu revamps too, and was super accommodating to every request and change I put forward. Overall, we were really happy with how everything turned out.

Thank you to everyone at Ace of Hearts for making our day truly special. We couldn't have done it without you!

Renee was a no-show at our wedding.

I had initially considered providing my own hors d'oeuvres for the cocktail hour at our wedding, but decided to save myself the trouble and sought out a professional catering company. My correspondence with Renee began on July 11th via phone when she asked me to email with some menu ideas and she would provide a quote. On July 12th, after exchanging multiple emails, we agreed on a menu and she said “we will be there for 3pm at [the venue] deliver and set up then on July 21st “. She said the balance could be paid anytime before delivery, so I sent it to her that day.

On July 21st, our wedding day, I arrived at the reception venue to learn that the caterer we hired to provide hors d'oeuvres did not show up. There was a 3 hour gap between the ceremony and dinner, and I had intended on feeding my guests during this time. Despite this intention, the food that I had ordered and paid for never arrived, so my guests were unfed and drinking on empty stomachs on a scorching hot summer day for 3 hours while our wedding party was having wedding photos done.

When my matron of honour learned about this problem, she called Renee and Renee claimed to have never heard of me. I did, however, receive an email from Renee about an hour later with a refund and an apology about “missing my order” with the reason being that she did not create an invoice for my order, it’s a really busy season, and she is “looking at getting an assistant so this kind of stuff doesn’t happen again”.

I understand that this kind of mistake can happen. I understand that Ace of Hearts catering is having a busy season and perhaps missing 1 order amongst 100 doesn’t seem very substantial, but while Ace of Hearts is fulfilling those 99 orders, I only get to have 1 wedding. A brief apologetic email and refund don’t make up for our hungry guests, the stressed out wedding party, or the lingering guilt I felt days after the wedding.
