I got married at Newlands just last weekend and I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to the entire team there for making our experience of getting married so effortless and stress free. From our amazing coordinator, Jessalyn, to our incredibly talented decorator, Lisa, the Newlands team really made every part of the process easy for us.
I wasn't even in the country when we picked Newlands as our venue and seeing how they were so accommodating and willing to explain the logistics, the timeline, and the transparency in costs, honestly made it a clear winner for us. We really loved the flexibility in how much we got to be involved in the creative process. On top of getting a full meeting with the decor team, each step of the way was met with a professional who was ready to take on any part of our wedding with excitement and care.
We couldn't be more grateful as well to Linda and the DJ team (Anesh & Hussein) who had our guests constantly rushing to the dance floor and adding things on the fly that resulted in everyone line dancing at one point.
To our amazing photographers, Michelle and Larissa, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Both me and my partner are pretty awkward people, but they made us feel so at ease the whole time and made the whole process of capturing everything we wanted so easy. It's still too soon so we haven't seen the finals, but we can't wait to sit down with them and see everything that was captured.
Something nice we weren't expecting was a handover of the day coordinator to the room captain. Our room captain, Heera, was fantastic. The handover between the day team and the evening was flawless and Heera made sure we had plenty to eat and drink between all the festivities. We didn't catch the names of the rest of the staff that were there that night, but all our guests were so impressed with how kind and attentive everyone was, so thank you so much to the evening crew for making their night as well!
Something we were a little concerned about was food. We knew that a buffet could be pretty good, but nothing prepared us for the amount of guests we had going back for seconds, thirds, and then telling us days later that it had been the best wedding food they'd ever had. So a huge shoutout to the entire culinary team at Newlands! We highly recommend upgrading to the prime rib as that was definitely something everyone loved, and we even got a lot of people saying how much they enjoyed all the vegetarian options as well. If you have guests that are vegan or have any dietary restrictions, Newlands were more than helpful in ensuring that those individuals got their own plates and that all the food was carefully labelled and/or food was separated onto different tables to avoid as much cross contamination as possible which was amazing.
While we have no control over the weather, I really appreciated how much Jessalyn reassured me that whatever happens, there is a rain plan and it's quick to organize (even though we know it won't be needed because it will hold out!). I think knowing that there was always a back up and a chance to still make things special for us, was just a bonus in having a wedding that was affordable, and memorable.
We really appreciated that 2 times a year leading up to the wedding, they also hold a huge showcase and tasting so you get a chance to try the food, find vendors that they've worked with before, and you get a chance to chat with all of them which is honestly so helpful especially with how busy and stressful it can be planning.
If you're looking for a chance to having a beautiful wedding that encompasses the benefit of being able to work within a budget if you have one, having a team that truly cares about your day, and having an amazing experience seeing effortless planning come together, my partner and I couldn't recommend Newlands more.

Our wedding at Newlands Golf & Country Club was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue.
The food was outstanding, the cake was delicious, and every detail was beautifully executed. The service was exceptional professional, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout the entire day.
A very special thank you to Kim for her incredible support, patience, and organization. She went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly, and we truly appreciated her patience with the language barrier for both me and my family. She made us feel comfortable every step of the way.
We also want to thank the entire Newlands team for all their hard work. They helped make our wedding day unforgettable, and we received so many compliments from our guests about the venue, the food, and the overall experience.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that truly cares about making your special day perfect, we highly recommend Newlands Golf & Country Club. Thank you for giving us the wedding of our dreams!

Newlands club wed hands down was the best choice we could of made!! They are so organized. As we already having a family this just made it easier having the package deal with them. Especially as our son was in kindergarten this year and we picked the wedding end of June the first weekend school was out ! It made it a lot easier on all the planning. Rather then doing separate vendors. We did our wedding in the Cypress Ballroom downstairs as we love the outdoors and the rustic environment so this room with the barn doors and the wooden centerpieces was perfect. We had Charlene for the first half then got Caylea as she went on to mat leave. Even with the switch it still went to smooth! Caylea was amazing and so so helpful to helping us plan up to our big day. Lisa from the decor has everything and will make sure your room is spectacular to all ur decorations needs. Going to food tasting to try all the foods before the wedding to help pick the food deffinately so much fun and makes you feel as if your going to a wedding and making it feel so real especially the cake tasting and samples. The best memories ever! To meeting Gustavo as our server and really getting to know him. Hands down amazing on our wedding night. He made sure everything went so smooth. Always there to fill our glasses up and literally make you feel like the king and queen, even our wedding party which was our family was literally speechless they said how amazing the venue was and how they were and making sure everything just went great! I have never encountered just an organize venue and room captain. He looked after us all night long personally hands-on checking with my mother and father to during the evening to make sure everything was going well. I couldn’t have asked for a better room manager. Also all the guys that were helping him in the banquet room were excellent. I never had to make a plate of food and dessert was always brought to us. The comments and feedback on food and service was excellent. I got from everyone was hands-down the best they’ve ever seen and the room looked spectacular. The bartender was awesome. Everyone said that he had such a great memory before they got their words out what they wanted to drink the bartender was already pouring them their drink they were wanting and were shocked. The food was outstanding and everyone loved it hands-down the kitchen staff were amazing. On a side note I am thoroughly impressed. Our Dj the best choice of music! And to our photographer Sherri outstanding and so friendly. She made us feel so comfortable and just made the day and evening go so smooth. As well as her side kick. Having them both was so much fun. And one more person Patrick our Officiant. So many wonderful words about him he just made it fun relaxing and comforting. Words cant say enough to how perfect the day was! It was just so so worth it!!! Thanks you so so much for everything they have done Kristen and Rob.

My 2 words for describing working with Newlands is " Dream Team"
As a bride who just married at Newlands last week, choosing Newlands was one of my best decisions I made. The staff is also what truly makes or break planning and delivering a wedding like a breeze. Everyone from my coordinator to my photographers, to food and design team knew exactly what they were doing and executed flawlessly. What I love about Newlands is they offer great all inclusive packages. Whether you are having a big or small wedding, they have you covered. There's no hidden fees, Newlands is very straight forward which I really appreciate! -

We had such a wonderful experience at Newlands Golf and Country Club for our wedding! The venue is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and a well-maintained setting that made our day feel extra special. The staff were professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout the process, ensuring everything ran smoothly. It was the perfect place to celebrate, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
Caylea was an amazing wedding coordinator who made our special day completely stress-free. She was organized, responsive, and paid attention to every little detail, ensuring everything went exactly as planned. Her calm and friendly approach made working with her such a pleasure. We’re so grateful for all her hard work and would highly recommend her to anyone planning their wedding!
Sherri was an incredible wedding photographer and truly captured the magic of our special day. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and her attention to detail was amazing. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful—natural, emotional, and perfectly timed. We’re so grateful for her talent and professionalism, and we’ll cherish these memories forever!
Lastly, I would like to thank Lisa. She did an amazing job as our wedding decorator and truly brought our vision to life. Every detail was beautifully executed, and the space looked absolutely stunning. She was creative, professional, and so easy to work with throughout the process. We received so many compliments from our guests—everything felt elegant and perfectly put together!

The venue itself is beautiful and captures a lot of natural light and their coordinators, Working with Newlands coordinators, Jessalyn and Charlene, made our wedding planning and logistics super streamlined - it is truly an all-inclusive package!
Their in-house decorator, Lisa, developed a detailed decor plan and even helped source and build a custom bridal canopy (phoolon ki chadar) for us. Additionally, the chef did a wonderful job with the food, even adding custom options like idli and chutney to cater to our South Indian guests.
The wedding day was executed smoothly and on time and all our guests gave wonderful feedback. Overall, I would highly recommend Newlands to anyone looking for a smooth and beautiful wedding experience.Newlands Golf & Country Club's reply:

My experience with Newlands was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, my timeline was 3 months and I had a 9 month old baby. They made the entire experience so seamless which was exactly what I was looking for as I did not want to deal with the headache of planning all the small details with so many vendors while being a mama to an infant. My wedding day was absolutely fantastic and honestly wish that I could relive that day all over again. The venue itself was beautiful and my vision was executed exactly as I wanted. To any couple who is looking for a venue, do NOT be fooled by the dated carpeting/floors. This venue was a dream! My husband and I got married in the conservatory room in October, and it was so magical!
The planning process was a breeze! We had Jessalyn as a coordinator, and she gets things DONE! In a very professional manner, but she is amazing at her job. She knows what she's doing, and we both really appreciated her responsiveness (always on top of her emails), her opinions, and her non-pushy demeanor. Planning and telling her our vision was truly about us, and what we wanted, and not about profit/upselling. TRULY an amazing Wedding Day of Coordinator. I wasn't a super picky bride, but when it comes to music I was extremely picky with the timing of when people walk to match the music, and Jessalyn and the DJ did an amazing job making everything perfect! My husband and I also made 2 gigantic seating chart signs (7ft tall, 2 ft wide), with giant wooden stands (to hold the sign up), and Jessalyn set them up for us during our ceremony, again she was amazing! If you're an organized bride, you'll make Jessalyn's job a lot easier to execute.
We organized our decorations into separate boxes, labelled the boxes, had a checklist of our DIY inventory, we also took pictures of how we wanted things set up (we set it up on our dining table, took a picture and put it in the box). We also highlighted which box goes on which table according to their floorplan to make set up a breeze for the team.
We were able to plan our wedding in 5 meetings! Yes you read that right, when Newlands said it, they definitely delivered on that. I believe the order went something like this:
1. Jessalyn
2. Photography
We got to talk about our vision, what kind of photo styles we liked, and we also picked our photographer (out of their list of photographers) this day as well.
They talk about potential add-ons if you wanted to add anything, and they mentioned what was included in their photography package.
3. Decorator/Florist
Lisa was PERFECTION. She knew her flowers, she understood our vision, and she made it work within our budget! My husband wanted a few add-ons, but we were very careful with our budget. Lisa was amazing and showed us a couple of different options to make our dreams come true. She had really great ideas!
We came prepared (the homework that was assigned to us) with a picture of our ideal flower colour scheme. She told us what flowers would be in season, and she made my bridal bouquet SO BEAUTIFULLY (and given, I'm not a flower person, but the colours were exactly what I had shown her).
4. Jessalyn (final review of food/plans)
We reviewed all our food decisions with Jessalyn, and we finalized our cake design, time line for the wedding, and our guest count
5. DJ/Music
We had some homework to pick out songs for the ceremony, and if we had any "must play" songs for the dancing portion of the evening.

We were also lucky to attend BOTH of the newlands tasting nights (we booked this venue over a year before we got married, so we were able to go to their fall tasting night, and their spring tasting night). It was such a fun event, and if you are able to you definitely SHOULD go! You get to see vendors that newlands works with (we saw a caricature, we saw many photobooths, videographer, etc.). It was just superb.
On our actual wedding day, we had someone who brought us all our food and drinks! Hira! Hira was the best!! I never met any of the other servers, but for us, Hira just read our minds! When we went outside to take some photos, we came back with 3 dinner plates of food PER PERSON! Wow!! We got to sit down and enjoy our meal!! Then we quickly went to take photos with each table, and I was thinking in the back of my mind that I really craved for dessert...when I came back? 3 PLATES OF DESSERTS EACH! Hira just read our minds and we absolutely loved his attentiveness, and his willingness to serve us that night!
We checked out a few other venues when we were wedding planning, but honestly, nothing could beat the price and what came with it. It was the easiest, stress-free wedding planning experience I had!!

What an incredible evening!
Could not be more grateful to have the Newlands behind us and our big day! We cannot thank them enough for letting us essentially be guests on our wedding day and be able to focus entirely on having an extremely great time.
Charlene was incredibly communicative and timely for any and all questions or inquiries we might have had.
Our day-of coordinator, Paul, was super attentive and the day-of team never let us go hungry or thirsty, or without a check in when we had a question!
The DJ was FANTASTIC!! Kept the momentum going and blended the two sides so well!
Our photographer team and videographer (Michele, Ashley, and Ian) were SO great! Keeping the pacing up to ensure we got everything we needed, while being super flexible with which moments happened where. I am so looking forward to seeing the photos and video!
And boy did the ballroom ever look SPECTACULAR!!! It was all I could do by the end of the night to stand and soak it all in.
Everyone knocked it out of the park!!
