Perfect location for a small intimate wedding
From start to finish, The Kanawaki Golf Club was responsive, accommodating and flexible in welcoming our wedding for both the ceremony and reception. We had options to be outdoor and indoors which was great. The food was INCREDIBLE and our guests raved about it!
Easy and free parking with a large lot, accessible bathrooms, beautiful outdoor grounds and welcoming staff. I highly recommend to take a look at this venue if you are planning a small wedding.

In short, our wedding here was great but the planning was very difficult. I would recommend getting married at a golf club just not this one. If you are a couple that wants to taste various options, rehearse your ceremony and plan everything, do not book here.
I'll start with the positives. The food was very good, whether for cocktail hour or the reception. The reception area is a nice size for a small wedding and has already quite a bit of charm so no need to decorate that much. You can get married outside near a beautiful willow tree. The pictures outside will look very nice, especially at sunset.
Now for the cons, communication with the coordinator was difficult. At first you think, we misunderstood each other, no problem. But then, the 'misunderstandings' keep happening. It feels a little like old car salesman with lots of talk but not always delivering. And at a point, you stop trusting them and that's not good.
Let me give you examples, we were invited to a tasting menu. We were served 1 appetizer each and 1 main meal each. Bottom line, they do not offer a tasting menu, you can't taste various appetizers or main meals. The frustrating part is they could just be honest about it and say we don't offer a tasting menu however we offer a complimentary dinner for you to get a feel for the type of cuisine that could be served. This happened twice, for the dinner and the hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour and both times there was a 'misunderstanding'. So we never actually ate our hors d'oeuvres but our guests said they were good.
If you choose to have your ceremony outside, you can't have a ceremony rehearsal. Again, they will tell you you can. And you might bring all your wedding team like we did, to be told that you can only get near it since people are golfing. It's clear that their priority is their golfers. Again, not a problem but they should tell couples you cannot do a ceremony rehearsal for outside, you can only look at the place from afar.
On the wedding day, we had requested golf carts to help women in heels or older people get to the ceremony which was down a small hill. We were assured there was no problem, our guests told us after there were no carts. We also didn't feel like there was a real plan B for the ceremony if it rained.
If you are a couple that isn't really into planning and maybe just want a place that recommends what to do, this could be an interesting option but beware that what you are told might not be totally accurate. For us, we wanted to be able to taste different options from hors d'oeuvres to appetizers to main meals but that wasn't possible. When we voiced our frustration, they did invite us back and we tasted another main meal and they also added a free salad to our wedding package. But, it wasn't worth the trouble in my opinion. Wedding planning is already so stressful and it made things so much worst. -

Intimate Wedding
Amaaazing!. Everything was perfect and beyond expectation to what we had planned out for the layout of the venue. Food was soooo good!! All of our guests were very happy with the food and even thought that the first course was the main. That's how full they were. They are very accommodating, we had brought foods from elsewhere, in addition to the food they were serving and plated it so beautifully. -

Dream Wedding, Despite Covid
I wholeheartedly recommend the Kanawaki Golf Club to anyone looking for a quiet, picturesque outdoor location with unbelievably delicious food for their wedding (or any gathering, truthfully).
I had the experience of getting married here in 2020, while navigating the rules for the Covid-19 pandemic. Cristina and her team at the Golf Club followed up with us regularly, and always followed up on our questions and concerns with the utmost professionalism and flexibility.
We were able to have a very small ceremony outdoors on the green, and enjoy being together with our immediate family during such a special ceremony. We followed the marriage ceremony up with a delicious meal that catered to a variety of dietary restrictions and intolerances/allergies without those meals feeling out of place. Everyone came away raving about the food, and speaking very highly of the staff. We were very well taken care of during the planning phase, and the day of the event itself.
The excellent staff, the gorgeous scenery, the quiet reprieve from life, and the phenomenal dining options are some of the biggest take-aways, so I strongly recommend checking out this venue if you are looking for something similar! -

I cannot express how lucky we were to have found this venue. We fell in love with the golf club and grounds when we first visited. We had nothing but great comments from all our guests. the view, the staff and the delicious the food that was served. With all this said, I have a special shout out to Cristina who was exceptionally patient with all my questions and requests, she made sure that our wedding would be beautiful, and that it was! Nous avons célébré notre mariage le 13 juillet dernier au Kanawaki Golf Club. La cérémonie fût célébrée à l’extérieur devant un paysage à couper le souffle qui a su rendre grâce à nos magnifiques photos!
La célébration eu lieu à l’intérieur du Golf Club , une maison ancestrale remplie de charme.
Le service, la nourriture fût bien au-delà de nos attentes !
Merci à toute l’équipe qui a fait de notre journée, un souvenir inoubliable.
Un merci spécial à Cristina pour ton aide, ton soutien et tes meveilleux conseils.

I wish I could rate them 6 Stars!!
When we were looking for a venue for our engagement party we immediately thought of Kanawaki. The beautiful clubhouse and the scenic grounds are breathtaking. We were blown away by the professionalism of the staff and of Steve the event coordinator. The food was simply wonderful and every detail was taken care of by all the staff. Paula came to see me at the beginning of the party to let me know that she would take care of anything I needed. I would recommend this venue to everyone! All of our guests were so happy and let us know how delicious the meal was. Thank you again to all the staff for making our party a huge success!! -

Andrea and Olivier Wedding, September 2015
A century old clubhouse with veranda overlooking the golf course provides a beautiful venue for a wedding. The professional staff made everyone feel like "house guests" while ensuring that the food, the music and the service were all above par! The club Manager provided the bride and groom with all the information needed to make food and entertainment choices to guarantee an extraordinary afternoon and evening. The setting for photographs was truly beautiful with gardens and grounds offering lovely backdrops. In addition the Management organized the facility to have an outdoor dance area, a photo booth area and an indoor dance area with a DJ. A second room was prepared for the midnight food service. This was a truly lovely setting, well organized in advance and met all the expectations we had. -

The Kanawaki Golf Club is a beautiful century old private club with a true Country Club atmosphere. Unpretentious with wonderful manicured grounds and exquisite cuisine.
We were looking for a venue which could accommodate 2 wedding receptions over the same weekend (Catholic and Hindu) The Club was was very flexible and accommodating while suggesting clever cost-friendly options to operationally make this happen without a glitch. They were able to seamlessly switch the venue's decor and menus according to the 2 different faith's requirements. Through the entire start to finish stressful preparations, we were extremely satisfied with the Club's management team and kitchen staff who went above and beyond to satisfy our ever changing needs before or during the 2 wedding receptions! They also made our guests feel like ''members'' and catered to their every need. Everyone raved about the venue, food and drinks ! Overall, we would highly recommend the Kanawaki Golf Club for all of the above and it's proximity to downtown Montreal.
