The story of our wedding

We got engaged for my 35th Birthday; it was just after Covid, and knowing most of our guests would be traveling to be here, we pushed our date to 2024. Newlands Golf and Country Club was the best choice for us as a venue because of the all-inclusive packages they offer. Our main goal was to have a big party, to bring our family and friends together, because we had moved to Vancouver 8 years ago, leaving everyone behind in Winnipeg and throughout Ontario. Our wedding came together beautifully.

I originally intended to do a dark moody theme, I love Fall. Our colour pallet was Navy and Burgundy with a Gold accent. The end result ended up being more regal than moody, but it was very elegant and beautiful. I definitely like traditional and classic styles, and because I knew I'd be wearing a traditional lengha, I designed the colour palette around that.

Our ceremony was heartfelt and also fun. Our officiant Dennis was energetic and engaging and with all of the deep sentiment we also had a lot of laughs. I think our favourite part of the ceremony was our music selections - Jesse and the groomsmen walked into Shot at the Night - The Killers, I also loved that Jesse walked in with each of our mom's on an arm. My other favourite part was having my younger brother walk me down the aisle to JVKE - Golden Hour, such a beautiful song.
