When we initially booked our wedding well over a year in advance, we really liked the manager / coordinator of that said village so; we booked our desired date because we really like the place. She was very nice at the first visit and love talking about of how we settling up for ... View more the entire wedding planned. Unfortunately, Unresponsiveness and lack of professionalism will ruined the entire planning process and unnecessary stressing me out. There were times that I would write multiple emails and calls with no response- at one point it took over a month to hear back. Also the reasons of we already give the 20% of down payment and done signing with the contract just to hold the dates for the wedding. Unfortunately after a several months of not having an enough communication just to let us know of unnecessary things, we just received a text messages from the unprofessional event manager telling us that our date was already been booked by the other couple. She want to arrange for appointment with us just returned back our payment and seeing our names in the calendar has been erased and replaced by the other name couple. And aside from that she was a racist seeing that putting ASIAN mark as remembering that were booking that dates. With that news my world started to freaking me out and planning to sue this Evergreen Village for being racism and also for not being professional. Imagine without even knowing for such a couple of months in preparations that we already order our wedding invitation then suddenly it turned into a big messed in just one text messages. We just kept in silenced believing that this business will not going to become successful if they'll continue doing this to their clients. Truly you (Evergreen) lead our wedding into a painful disaster and inconvenience. Yet I am also thankful of rejecting us because we found a much better and beautiful venue than this Evergreen Village. So I would not recommend this place especially to Asian people like us, because there is no place for us with that business. Shame on you, owner, manager/ event-coordinator. You will find one day a person to deal with your dump treatment to us. And I also found out that this business are not BBB Manitoba Accredited: you can check yourself with this link: http://www.bbb.org/manitoba/business-reviews/banquet-facilities/the-evergreen-village-in-niverville-mb-28626/customer-reviews?cacheit=y

The site is amazing and beautiful, my only real complaint is the mosquitos, they fogged the night before than cut the grass right before they set up the ceremony. But other than that it was amazing to be there, and they need better signage for guest. But amazing food as well.

This venue is really nice, beautifully scenic with a variety of picturesque locations. It affords you a good alternative to an outdoor reception. The location itself is a little difficult to find as it is not well marked off the highway. The wood-frame tent and built up ceiling ... View more "on top" of the tent made sure that we had no concerns about getting wet during the reception or that the "tent" would not stand up to the weather. The food at the venue (they cater themselves) was really good and we received several complements. They were also very good with making alternative meals for our guests with specific dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, non-dairy, and several allergies) we did however give them a lot of heads up about these requirements.(Don't know how they would do last minute with them). My chief complaints are, they are hard to get a hold of during non peak wedding season. Make sure that the owner (head chef) doesn't try to over charge you (know exactly how much everything should cost, and how much that translates to per guest), and also watch your alcohol. Its the only complaint I received from someone I knew who worked there so I thought we would be very vigilant and not let that happen to us. Well my father-in-law caught him in the proverbial cookie jar. He had marked all of our bottles of alcohol with a nondescript black mark. Upon going through the empties to bring them back, we noticed that they had given us back an "empty" that wasn't ours because it didn't have our "tag", therefore we concluded that he must have kept a full bottle for himself. We let it slide because it was a single bottle of vodka, but had it been a bottle of each of the available liquors we would have confronted him. Despite this I still believe that the whole event was amazing and that everybody had an lovely time at the wedding reception, I would still recommend this venue as everything else went well.
