From the moment we started planning our wedding, Shane was an absolute dream to work with. He was always available—truly always, even responding via WhatsApp at all hours—to make sure everything was running perfectly. Whether it was driving my grandma around in his golf cart, finding umbrellas for guests when it started to rain, or smoothing out every little hiccup before we even noticed them, Shane handled it all with calm, grace, and so much heart.
He even went above and beyond in navigating sensitive family dynamics, gently supporting us and our families with such thoughtfulness and care. He made it his mission to protect us from stress, taking on every challenge behind the scenes so we could be fully present and enjoy the day.
Thanks to Shane, our wedding day was not just smooth—it was magical. He truly felt like a friend by the end of it, and we honestly wished he could have stayed and celebrated with us. Shane made an enormous difference for both Thomas and me, and for our families too. We feel so lucky and grateful to have had him by our side on one of the most important days of our lives.
Now for Tigh Na Mara—this venue is an absolute dream. It was the perfect place to welcome my friends from Australia and for my husband's family and friends to experience just how breathtaking Canada—and especially Vancouver Island—really is. Even when it rained, no one could stop talking about how magical Parksville and Tigh-Na-Mara felt. It honestly just added to the cozy, West Coast charm.
The rustic log cabin vibes paired with beautifully modern interiors created the perfect balance of warmth and luxury. And don’t even get me started on the spa and grotto—the spa day became legendary among our guests. People are still talking about the Bevi water, the relaxation rooms, and how rejuvenating it all was.
We’ve had so many messages from guests saying they’re already planning their next trip back to Canada, specifically to return to Tigh-Na-Mara.
It was the most perfect setting to celebrate such a meaningful moment in our lives, and we feel so lucky to have shared it with the people we love in such an unforgettable place. -

What truly stood out was their ability to anticipate our needs before we even realized them. My husband and I got married at Tigh Na Mara in June 2025. We have nothing but excellent things to say. The staff was excellent to work with and everything looked amazing from the ceremony set up to how the reception was laid out and decorated for what we paid for. Shane was also amazing to work with and he made the day go smoothly. We had family and friends helping us set up our decorations we had to bring in and Shane made sure that my husband and I weren’t bothered in the process of decorating. The bartenders came up with a list of drinks and all my guests absolutely loved them. We love the convenience of how Tigh Na Mara did pretty much everything, and there was no stress on our end. -

I had my wedding here in July 2025 and the experience was nothing short of wonderful. More than anything, we would like to acknowledge and thank Shane at Tigh Na Mara for making this such a great process, experience and day! The professionalism, attention to detail, and welcoming energy that Shane brings is so appreciated and he truly does it all. Thank you for making our wedding day so great! The resort offers so much - both for guests and for the wedding - having all of the food, drinks and decor options made the planning process SO easy. All of our guests, many from outside of BC, loved their stay at the resort as well. Would absolutely recommend Tigh Na Mara as a wedding destination! -

Would highly recommend this venue, they take care of just about everything for you and go above and beyond to make sure you day is perfect. My husband and I could not have been happier with our special day. The attention to detail was top notch, Shane made sure we were well taken care of! Not to mention the property is gorgeous! -

4 nights in the Gabriola building and an amazing wedding weekend. The team at Tigh-Na-Mara were absolutely fantastic. Shane the events manager was there to guide us the entire day ensuring everything was perfect for our big day. The accommodation, value and venue itself were breathtaking, it was a true fairytale wedding. Our Boho theme went nicely with the decor, the gazebo location for the ceremony overlooking the ocean on a sunny day with a light breze and the Grand Moriarty with its twin river rock fireplaces for the reception both truly stunning. We could not have been more pleased. We felt like a king and queen for the day. 18 months of planning culminating into a single afternoon. We truly felt the staff were in it with us with high spirits and huge smiles. From the front desk staff, Chef, banquet team and Shane. All working together to make it just perfect for us. All the vendors we chose from the list provided by TNM were amazing and so friendly. Top notch service all around. Shout out to Kettle & Petal (Florists) "Karen", Sugar Fix Cakes (Baker) Cat Haggerty, Laurel Russell our marriage commissioner, Enhanced Beauty ( Rachel )
(Hair & Makeup). If you are planning or have already booked. Rest assured Tigh-na-mara is a no brainer. I'm sure many don't well. Tigh-na-mara does it Mint!
