My fiancée and I were challenged with finding a large venue to accommodate our wedding group of 50 in Sept 202 due to COVID-19 social distancing. We ended up choosing the Emerald Ballroom in the Royal Hotel in Calgary. It could not have been more perfect. The ballroom, the planners Tracey and Sophie, all of the serving staff, the decorators, the food, the rooms for our guests....it could not have been better. I completely recommend them for your next wedding. Ours was perfect because of them. -

Finding a hotel to have your wedding reception can be daunting, especially when you don't have a huge budget. While having a wonderful Mothers Day brunch, the whole family commented on how good the food was and I knew then that the Executive Royal Hotel was a contender. Even before we finalized any booking, Tracey the Catering Manager was already treating us like customers who she would help make our vision happen within our budget and needs. They were very upfront with costs prior to the event, which helped us decide the things that were most important while keeping within the budget. We were also pleasantly surprised that there also was no added hidden costs after the fact. Not only did the hotel let us decorate the day before with no additional fees, but thankfully they also helped! As expected the food was amazing and the staff was the best I have every dealt with for any hotel type event that I have helped organize (which is a regular occurrence with my job). They went over and above on several occasions which by the end had us feeling like they were family members at our wedding, even shared some hugs after. I can't say enough about this hotel, from the front desk letting our guests check in early, to housekeeping who brought us all waters (without us asking) while us girls got bridal ready, to our bartender (he was a hit), to Leeceta the Food and Beverage Manager who was on shift all weekend making sure all our fine details that I couldn't do on the day of the wedding were handled. This was not just a few good staff members, but a culture that seems encouraged within all their staff. So glad I choose this venue, my guests are still talking about how great the whole event was. -
