It’s been two years since our wedding, and I’ve finally found the time to write this review. After reflecting on our experience, I wanted to share both the positives and the negatives to help future couples make informed decisions.

Our wedding at this venue was absolutely beautiful, and there were definitely things we appreciated. One of the biggest positives was having access to the venue the entire day before the wedding for setup. That made decorating so much less stressful and is a huge advantage compared to many other venues.

Unfortunately, our experience with many of the add-on services was disappointing. We paid extra for the day-of coordinator service, but it didn’t provide the level of support we expected. Aside from checking in on me and making sure I had a drink, there wasn’t much coordination involved. We had requested that food be set out at specific times, and they did place it out as requested, but beyond that, we didn’t feel the coordinator service justified the additional cost.

We also paid for the cleanup service, which was another disappointment. At the end of the night, a group of young adults handled the cleanup. My sister watched them pack our belongings into boxes without much care. When we returned the next day to collect everything, several items had been broken, and others were missing. We brought our concerns to the venue, but they refused to take any responsibility for the damaged or missing items.

The bar service was also frustrating because it lacked consistency. We paid for the standard open bar, but it seemed like different guests were given different answers about what they could order. For example, one guest was able to order a whiskey neat, while another guest was told they couldn’t order that same drink. We understood the no-shots policy, but we were disappointed that the staff wouldn’t even allow a celebratory champagne toast in shot glasses. Several guests were also cut off from alcohol. One instance was completely understandable, but others seemed unwarranted and inconsistent.

The biggest disappointment, however, was our ceremony. We chose one of the venue owners to officiate our wedding and were very clear throughout the planning process that we did not want a religious ceremony. We specifically requested something lightly spiritual without references to any particular religion, and he confirmed that he understood. Despite those conversations, our ceremony contained numerous references to God and Jesus. It was far more religious than what we had requested. During the ceremony, I noticed guests looking at me with confused expressions because they know my beliefs, and afterward multiple guests approached me to ask why the ceremony was so religious. It was upsetting because one of the most important parts of our wedding did not reflect who we are as a couple or the wishes we had clearly communicated.

The venue itself is beautiful, and having access the day before for setup was a huge benefit. However, our experience with the coordinator service, cleanup service, bar service, and officiant left us disappointed. If I could do it over again, I would still consider the venue for its beauty, but I would skip the add-on services and make different arrangements for the ceremony.

We chose this venue for its beautiful indoor and outdoor space. We had plenty of room for the ceremony and lawn games outside, but we also had peace of mind knowing that if it had rained there would have been space inside for everything to happen regardless. The bonus was the owners, they are a lovely family and so helpful. They will quickly answer any questions you may have, and are very accommodating.

Dave officiated our wedding this past weekend and we were amazing. Dave helped us relax and enjoy every moment at the alter all while making us laugh. Dave is the perfect officiant and helped us from the beginning of our planning. All the guests were asking for his contact information so he can officiate their weddings in the future.
