I knew there was something special about the black barn as soon as we got there for the first time. The beautifully landscaped yard, the seasonal florals, the warm yellow lighting and elegant chandeliers, the rustic look of an old barn, plus the uniqueness of it not being bright red in color, and the floor to ceiling windows that you can watch the sunset from all contribute to this wedding venue being the most romantic venue you'll ever find.
Ontop of the charm this black barn has, you'll learn that the owners are a wonderful family who will put the cherry on top of your "wedding sundae," so to speak. Well organized, and mixed with many talents, the owners will make you feel like youve known each other for years and host the best party of your life.

Myself and my husband watched this venue come to life, right from the blueprint vision to the final reveal of "The Black Barn".
We saw Mrs. Madeline's vision on paper and knew this spunky farm girl was onto something specular, and oh boy!!!!! Did she ever produce.
The Black Barn and its team are genuine home-grown people.
From Aaron's attention to detail, his zest for beauty and his gentle touch, this man has your day covered.
The Black Barn team simply love what they do, and it shows through right from the first consult to the final minutes of your big day.
They made my fairytale wedding come to life without a single flaw.
My guests were just as in love with this venue as we were.
The black Barn is one of the most enchanting venues in Alberta.

Above and beyond
ABOVE & BEYOND is how I would describe our experience with the Black Barn venue. We had our wedding in September 2022 and from the moment we first contacted them up until the wedding day, they have gone above and beyond in all aspects to make our day special. After conducting research on all of the venues in the Edmonton area, the Black Barn stood out to us because they offered more than just a venue, they offered an experience. From the four hours of complimentary wedding planning, day of coordination, prompt communication, use of their decor and the immense amount of extra services included in the price we had to go with Black Barn. Aaron, the day of coordinator did most of the decorating with such an eye for perfection and class, the bartenders that we hired from them were creative and made fun cocktails and shots for all of our guests, the bridal suite was gorgeous and filled with natural light, and they even had coffee made for us upon our arrival in the morning. We wanted a champagne tower right after our ceremony, and Aaron had everything ready for us. Throughout the evening they made sure the space was tidy and helped our DJ transition to the patio for our first dance. For those guests who didn’t want to dance inside the barn, they brought out portable fire towers so that they could relax on the patio all night. At the end of the night, they cleaned up everything, stacked our extra alcohol and even boxed up leftover decor that could be reused. With the Black Barn, they will make your vision a reality. My husband and I live in British Columbia, and had to plan our wedding from one province over. It was an absolute breeze because of working with the Black Barn. We can not recommend them enough. The venue is full of beautiful landscaping, a classy patio, elegant decor and wonderful staff.

Amazing Service and Location!
We just had our wedding at the Black Barn yesterday and it was absolutely amazing and gorgeous! It’s a terrific family run business with incredible and attentive service and they all went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day went smoothly! Aaron made sure every decorating detail was just what we wanted! It was also super convenient to be able to get ready right at the venue in the beautiful bridal suite and manly groom’s garage. All our guests had a great time as well and were all commenting about how beautiful the venue was! Even our photographer couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was and how many opportunities there were for incredible photos! We don’t have enough good things to say about this venue but absolutely recommend it for anyone that is looking for a wedding venue!

Stress free wedding and reception
This venue was so beautiful for our daughter's wedding. The staff we very helpful and created such a stress free environment. Aaron was so helpful with decor, and the family helped all through the set up, clean up and reception! Also, the area for the bridal party to get ready is amazing. I couldn't recommend them enough.

Beyond what we could imagine for ourselves!
My husband and I were so honoured to be the first wedding at the black barn. To say that the owners and staff are kind and caring is an understatement. They were flexible with our timeline and made sure the space looked stunning. This is in addition to a beautiful space that would have been absolutely perfect without any decor at all. If you want a rustic touch while still looking elegant and somewhat modern, this venue is a great choice!

Breathtaking venue with discreet service
We had my daughter’s wedding at the Black Barn in March. The venue is absolutely breathtaking. The high ceiling and rustic charm were so beautiful. The bridal party got ready upstairs in the elegant bridal suite which had salon style chairs and lighting for doing hair and makeup. There was also an inviting sitting area and lots of counter space for our catered lunch. We had the ceremony downstairs in the main hall. My daughter loved the arch! Then the discreet and professional wedding consultant changed the room to a very stylish reception area while guests enjoyed cocktails and a cozy outdoor fire. I can’t say enough how beautiful the space was and how discreet and helpful the staff were. They looked after all the details and the wedding was a truly memorable event. I would highly recommend the Black Barn to anyone who is planning a wedding or similar event.

The Best Wedding Venue
We just got married here and I can’t recommend it enough. It was my dream venue and I’m in love with it. In addition to Black Barn being an amazing venue, their service is incredible. Amazing venue and experience
I am thrilled that Black Barn will be the setting for our upcoming wedding in July 2021. It will be so exciting to be among the first couples to take our vows here—especially since I grew up on a farm.  Also, the wedding planner has already given us so much help and guidance and excellent suggestions. It’s been so reassuring and has taken away a lot of the stress related to wedding planning!
We have already spent time walking around the site and imagining our wedding photos with a background of bright yellow canola.
