Black Barn truly was our dream venue. I had always envisioned getting married somewhere outdoorsy, private, and surrounded by nature, and this venue was everything I had hoped for and more. The property provided the perfect natural backdrop for our wedding, with so many different spaces for guests to mingle and explore throughout the day, along with games for the kids and an incredible team of staff who were always available to help with anything we needed.
The getting-ready spaces were spotless and comfortable, and both the ceremony and reception areas were beautiful, accessible, and worked perfectly for our day. From start to finish, the entire venue felt private, relaxed, and incredibly well cared for. We truly could not have imagined a better place to celebrate our wedding.
A very special mention also has to go to their in-house coordinator, Aaron, who was quite possibly the best money we spent throughout the entire wedding planning process. On our wedding day, I genuinely did not have to think about a thing. He made sure everything was set up exactly as we had envisioned, coordinated with our vendors so everyone knew where they needed to be and what was expected, and somehow kept us on schedule during a day that felt like it was flying by. His organization, professionalism, and calm presence allowed us to be completely present and actually enjoy our wedding day rather than worrying about logistics behind the scenes.
The entire team truly went above and beyond for us, and we cannot recommend this venue, or Aaron, enough. If you are looking for a beautiful, private outdoor venue with an incredible team who will make your wedding day feel seamless and stress-free, this is absolutely the place. -

Black Barn - Review
Truly, I couldn't recommend The Black Barn Venue enough! Our wedding day was absolutely spectacular, and the entire Black Barn team made every detail, every vision, and every moment so incredibly special. If you're considering hiring a day-of coordinator, look no further, Aaron was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond our expectations, taking care of everything from the décor to the smallest details. He was an outstanding day of coordinator and stayed with us throughout the entire day, making sure everything ran smoothly and that we stayed on schedule. His professionalism, organization, and genuine care allowed us to relax and fully enjoy our wedding. If you're considering The Black Barn Venue or their day-of coordination services, don't hesitate, you won't regret it. From the moment you arrive, you'll feel right at home. The venue is beautiful, the team is exceptional, and they truly care about making your day everything you've dreamed of. We are so grateful to everyone at The Black Barn for giving us the perfect wedding day! -

The entire team at Black Barn made every single moment of planning our wedding an absolute joy! It was like having an entire team in our corner. Aaron was incredible to work with and made the planning process not only exciting but easy! The bartenders were ON POINT!! They did an incredible job! Annalise was always checking in and ensuring we kept our schedule. Madeline made me feel like an absolute Queen. Their attention to detail and their ability to improvise and adapt to changing situations made for as close to a flawless day as we could have hoped for. -

The Black Barn and Staff are everything you want and need for your special day! They go above and beyond and we have so many good things to say but we wont waste your time, go see it and experience it for yourself, I guarantee, you will be impressed! -

BEST venue and team ever!
Words cannot express how amazing this venue and team is! Our day was far more perfect than we could have imagined, all thanks to Aaron, Annalise, and Madeleine. Aaron's day-of-coordination service was above and beyond - from timeline creation, to vendor recommendations, communication, and literally helping remove stains from my wedding dress, he was truly top tier. The venue itself is stunning but the people who operate it make it THAT much better. The set up and tear down process was amazing. The bar package was great too - recommended quantities, signature cocktails, and all bartenders were stellar. Truly cannot say enough good things. We are so happy they were all a part of our special day and will forever remember them! 10/10 recommend this venue!

The Black Barn Venue far exceeds all expectations! As a wedding photographer I have the privilege of shooting weddings at venues all over Alberta and can say this has been my favourite venue experience to date. The photo opportunities on the grounds are endless, and Aaron (the wedding coordinator) is so thorough and meticulous about every detail of the day - it ran like an absolute dream. He anticipated every need the bridal party had, left the appropriate amount of time for all of the desired photos, and had the whole timeline locked down to the minute.
He was truly a dream to work with as a vendor and provided such a great client AND vendor experience! The whole team from the bartenders to the additional staff were incredible and I highly highly recommend this venue - you will not be disappointed!!
I cannot wait to be back to shoot many more weddings here - thank you team!

We were thrilled to choose the Black Barn for our wedding. Having heard fantastic reviews, our initial tour only confirmed it – the venue is stunning. It’s evident that the family has invested tremendous effort into the landscape and design. It truly serves as a perfect all-in-one location for both the ceremony and reception. Additionally, unlike many other venues, there are no mandatory vendors or associated fees.
However, we encountered challenges in planning as various individuals were responsible for different aspects of our wedding. Moreover, our contract lacked clarity regarding the services provided and omitted, and our rehearsal dinner timeline was changed three times.
We also received feedback from several guests, vendors, family members, and our wedding party about the staff's rudeness and short tempers. One notable incident involved my brother accidentally bumping into a bartender, who responded with, “Be careful, you drunk!” Please keep in mind that my brother has been sober for five years.
When the owner inquired about our day, I tried to express our concerns, but I felt that our conversation was met with defensiveness and dismissal. After reflecting on this interaction, I decided to share this review.
Overall, while the Black Barn is a beautiful venue and we found some staff to be professional, the treatment of our guests and family did not meet our expectations.
I hope this experience at the Black Barn can be viewed as an “off” day, and I sincerely wish they become more receptive to the feedback from those they serve in the future.
