Tom was wonderful, he made us feel so at ease with the process and spent time getting to know us and making sure we were comfortable. It has been a truly amazing experience working with Kirsten as our photographer! From the beginning, Tom and Kirsten were timely and clear with communication - which was a huge part of our decision when choosing vendors and venues. We tried our best to not let the stress of wedding planning get to us and Kirsten and Tom really made us feel good about everything! They answered all of our questions and really made us feel heard and cared for. We also had a rather strict budget that they respected and honoured so that we could proceed with our vision without feeling like we were sacrificing quality or the experience. They also let their work speak for themselves, showing us that unique moments and personalities make a photograph authentic, precious and beautiful.

Kirsten is a fantastic listener who really considers our thoughts and ideas, and what makes us comfortable. At our request before hiring, Kirsten put together an additional portfolio to demonstrate her skills and style when capturing more candid moments and lightly staged poses during an entire wedding. Leading up to our engagement shoot, Kirsten was flexible with our schedules and took the time to get to know us. We thought outdoor skating during winter would be fun so Kirsten suggested we go to Lake Louise for some skating pictures. It ended up being a really fun and memorable time! The photos turned out better than we imagined and we still receive a lot of compliments from family and friends.

Kirsten continued to impress us when she offered to photograph our backyard legal ceremony, which was an unexpected decision we had to make because of COVID-19. Although the ceremony day was filled with unexpected hiccups, Kirsten once again delivered fun and amazing photographs. The pandemic meant restrictions and delays in getting our bride and groom outfits in time, but Kirsten still made us feel special and look beautiful. She even took time to capture photos requested on the spot by our parents. Kirsten made everyone feel special!

Our wedding with loved ones is rescheduled for next year, provided that the situation around social gatherings improves. Despite the stresses of planning around COVID-19, Kirsten has been a positive constant in the past year. We can’t wait for her to work her magic at our larger ceremony and reception!

Hiring Tom for our wedding Video is one of the best things we did! Tom is the best videographer hands down, here are some reasons why he is the best and why we will hire him for all future events. First, the video is amazing! So amazing, i start my day watching it every day, and I even watch it throughout my day. I cried the first time, because he really caught some beautiful moments! What I loved most was his editing, he really put our story together, he recognizes the importance of good storytelling. Secondly, the instrumental music rhythm emphasizes the story without taking away from the video. Thirdly, he is extremely professional and knowledgeable of his equipment. Lastly, he works with his couples and their desires and added great insight throughout our day. We were not local, so the getting to know each other could have been tricky, Tom took time in his evening to skype us and even came with us the day before our wedding to scout out the area. He is the holistic package yet very unique in his product.

Kirsten was really helpful and responsive when we were trying to plan our photos. With our weather related concerns she was helpful coming up with backup plans, and also helping us act natural in the photos. With everything we had to worry about that day, it was just one thing we knew she had covered.

At no point during the entire wedding day did the process of having a camera follow us around feel intrusive and the final product makes my heart flutter every time I watch it. Tom & Kirsten were simply amazing. They went above and beyond to travel to our remote location and put in the time and energy to get amazing shots that really made our video so unique, fun, true to us and our relationship, and simply beautiful. They captured the feel of our venue, the emotions of the day, and so many memorable moments of us and our family and friends. When choosing a videographer what stood out to us was how clear and crisp their audio was in their other videos and how well they blended it with music and the cinematic flow... and they did not disappoint with ours! They're creativeness helped turned our vision into more than we could have hoped for and our guests have also commented that it was the best wedding video they have seen! Tom even embarked on a slightly traitorous bike ride to gain the perfect shots! All in all, we couldn't be more happy and would recommend Sweet Currant in a heartbeat.

Tom and Kirsten joined us for our emerald lake elopement. We only had two guests there, but being able to share this day with family was still very important. They captured every moment, every glance! It was amazing! Being able to watch the video and see all the little details that we were too busy to look for was incredible. As much as our friends and family loved the wedding photos, the video blew everyone away! With very little direction and pretty much free reign Tom and Kirsten read both our minds and delivered something beyond our expectations... oh and it was done before they had promised which was even better!

Weddings are hard. They're especially hard when you're not around all the time to coordinate things. Things get even harder when you have family and friends flying in for your wedding, and who all have particular ideas about what pictures they want to take, and what pictures they want YOU to take. And yet, despite all this, Kirsten and Tom made it all look easy. They took what is probably one of the most visibly demanding, thankless, and tiring jobs, and made it all seem effortless. They are consummate professionals who bring creative flair and perfect communications skills to deliver amazing work.

My wife and I were married in Vancouver in July 2016. When looking for wedding photographers and videographers, we were referred to Kirsten and Tom. Tom came out to our place personally to have a meeting with us, which is already not something most of the other vendors were willing to do. He sat with us and made sure to understand what we were looking for and what the wedding would entail. He also made sure that we set aside a day for engagement photos, which neither my wife nor I had had time to do yet, and which wound up creating some of the best photos of the year. Throughout the process, you could see the creative wheels working in the back of Tom's head, and that he would put the utmost care into making sure that the end product would be the best that it could possibly be.

During the engagement photoshoot and on the wedding day, you could also see the sheer power of personality that Kirsten exudes, and she became not only a photographer, but a confidante during the day, recommending places and shots that created unique and beautiful shots, while also stepping into the shadows when needed and taking some great candid shots. She made my wife look even more beautiful, and she even made me look good, which is saying something!

Working with Kirsten and Tom was one of the best experiences of our wedding. They both carry complimentary strengths resulting in one of the best quality / value combinations possible. They are absolute ninjas. They are endlessly patient with not only the wedding party, but also with guests that are also looking for pictures or who may have their own idea of what they want. They memorialized our wedding in a way that effortlessly captured the magic of the day in a form which my wife and I have constantly relied on to bring a few laughs, tears, and hugs.
