Ben is amazing
Weddings can pass by in the blink of an eye. One moment you’re putting the final touches on a well-executed plan, the next you’re at the altar and suddenly you’re dealing with the hangover the following day. The most important day of your life can be nothing more than a few brief memories. Luckily we had Ben.
In a flurry of video equipment, Ben captured every beautiful, wonderful moment of our wedding day in a stunning and memorable video. It’s apparent from the quality of the shots and the subtle, but impactful, details that he not only took the time to know his craft, but my husband and I as well. Every choice fit perfectly with the theme of our wedding, from music choice to the content he chose to film. With little to no direction, Ben made sure he was at all the right places at all the right times, capturing behind the scenes moments as well as the main events. Despite him being everywhere at once, Ben was never in our way nor impeded the flow of our plans. There were shots that took place and I hadn’t even a clue he was filming. Being mindful of a bride’s space on her big day is a big deal, and Ben was very conscientious of that.
He provided us with raw cuts to ensure we liked the work he had done and to give us the opportunity to veto any shots we weren’t fond of. He was incredibly open to and receptive of feedback and ultimately wanted to ensure his client’s utmost satisfaction. His attention to detail is impeccable and the final cut had our wedding attendees, and those not able to attend, begging for more.
Our guests ranted and raved about the video, but it didn’t stop there. Compliments poured in regarding Ben’s professionalism, attitude and how friendly he was. He’s the kind of personality you want mingling with your guests.
It’s easy to praise a videographer’s skill and talent in his craft, but it is less common to praise his character. The day of our wedding, it poured rain. Despite not having his own umbrella or rain jacket, Ben ensured our wedding photographer had an umbrella above her at all times so that she could work without worry. Soaking wet, Ben was patient and a true gentleman with no complaints and no qualms. During a particularly perilous photo in a canoe on the water (with no paddles!) Ben told me if we got stranded, he would swim out to pull us back in. That’s far beyond any expectation I had for him, let alone a videographer.
When I watch the video Ben crafted for us, I feel like I’m back on the sunny beach of the Little Shuswap, marrying the man of my dreams, surrounded by people I love. As my memories fade and become less crisp, I will always be able to look back on this marvelous work of art and relive the most momentous day of my life.
