It’s taken me a long time to write this review because honestly, I’ve been so sad and disappointed about the outcome that I tried to put it out of my mind.
I hired Photo Kings for my wedding in September 2023. On paper, their business model is clever—centralized booking, competitive pricing, and a strong marketing team that makes everything polished and professional. But if your wedding photos and videos are something you place high value on, I would strongly recommend researching the photographer/videographer they assign you or just hiring someone who’s work you know and love.
It’s a bit of a luck-of-the-draw situation when it comes to who your photographer and videographer will be. You’re essentially assigned whoever is available in your area on your wedding day, and the quality of their experience can vary a lot. Unfortunately, in my case, the photographer had very little experience, and it really showed in the final product.
I signed a contract that included all raw photos and videos, plus a highlight video. I spent hours filling out intake forms and explaining my vision—candid, soft, romantic vibes. What I received was the opposite: harsh, overly staged photos with a filter that made everyone look sunburnt. While editing is done by a Photo Kings editor (not the photographer), the final look was completely off from what I had described.
The videographer spent time on the wedding day capturing what we thought were going to be stunning drone shots. But we never received that footage. When I followed up, I was told the drone camera wasn’t working.
The contract stated we’d receive photos in 6 weeks and videos in 8. I had to follow up repeatedly, and only got the photos at the 8-week mark—and was hugely let down. I asked for a revision so they got re-edited by someone else which made it a bit better but the photos themselves were not great.
The videos didn’t arrive until almost 12 weeks later. To make matters worse, the highlight video had actually been completed a month earlier, but hadn’t been sent to me. The raw videos were delivered entirely in slow motion, making them essentially unusable.
Another thing that stood out was how much they emphasize 5-star reviews—throughout the process, there’s a clear push for positive feedback. Yet strangely, they don’t have much of a presence on Google Reviews, and only a handful of reviews on other platforms.
All in all, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. I regret taking a chance on Photo/Video Kings instead of hiring someone whose work I could see and trust, even if it meant paying more. -
