Jennifer photographed our wedding in Barrie last year and was absolutely amazing. We received so many compliments on our photos and I look at them again and again. She captured our day perfectly. We got such a lovely array of portraits and candid shots - we loved her journalistic approach, she was able to capture moments that we may have missed otherwise since the day went by so quickly! My [now] husband and I aren't typically fans of having our pictures taken but she made us feel so comfortable and always had us laughing. Would 110% recommend her to any bride!

Jen's photos are absolute magic. When we first skyped with Jen we knew she was the photographer for us, so we were thrilled when she was available! My partner and I are both a bit camera shy, but in our engagement session, we laughed so much that by the end of the shoot we felt so natural. This is a credit to Jen's sense of humor, creativity and her eagerness to get a bit adventurous. When our wedding arrived it was like having one of our friends shoot our wedding. She was an absolute joy to be around (and Julie too!). The photos are breath-taking. Each one tells such an important story from the day. While our portraits are stunning, the candid photos really come to life. She captured our day flawlessly. We cannot recommend her enough!!

We found Jen when we searched google for photographers who had shot at our venue before. Her style of photography immediately caught our attention and as soon as we met her over skype we knew she was the photographer that we wanted to capture the special moments on our wedding day. Jen was incredible to work with. She was quick to respond to our emails and always did so with wording that put a smile on our faces. Jen was incredibly helpful when we were trying to organize our timeline for the day, photo and non-photo related.

On the day of, she was cool, calm, collected and so much fun! We had an amazing time spending several hours with her and her assistant, taking the absurd number of photos we requested. Jen really shined when she was able to corral all 90+ of our family members for a long series of group shots before the ceremony.

About a week after our ceremony we received a sneak peek of our photos, the full set came a few weeks after that. The photos are INCREDIBLE. Jen really captured our day. So many special moments are now ours forever. Trying to pick ones to share and print is nearly impossible, they are all so good!

We were so thrilled with Jen, both for our engagement shoot and wedding. She's super chill, but also incredibly professional and talented. Her way of putting everyone at ease made for so many amazing shots.

For our engagement shot, we met up in the Junction (Toronto) and just roamed around the neighbourhood for an hour super casual. When we got our photos back, we could hardly believe how many different types of shots and locations she managed to capture. We loved so many of them that it made it amazingly easy to put together the wedding website, invitations and guest book.

At the wedding, Jen was so efficient with the portrait/family photos (which turned out wonderful!) that Rick and I had tons of time to mingle with our guests at our cocktail hour which was important to us. The majority of her shots are documentary style, so unposed, but it seems like she was everywhere at once and captured all the best moments.

Photos in both rounds came back in a very reasonable amount of time (a couple of weeks at the most).

Booking Jen was one of the best decisions of our wedding!

We feel so lucky to have had a chance to work with Jennifer for our wedding photography. From the first exchange of emails we knew that we have found someone dedicated to making the very best happen for you on your day. We had done quite a few calls with other photographers and none “got it” the way she did. She sought to get to know us and what we were looking for from our photography. We were reassured with plenty of advice, a lovely welcome packet and instant replies to any questions we may have had. Jennifer truly made it easy to not worry about this element of the planning.

On the day, her and Julie were a dream to be around! They were calm, kind, but also were able to step in and keep us on track when it was hard to tear ourselves away from guests. We didn’t feel pressured or uncomfortable, she let us be ourselves. Taking our couple’s portraits was such a wonderful breather, she understood that it was not only a time for us to capture photos of the two of us but a chance to be alone a moment before the rest of the day, and was able to direct us whilst giving us that feeling of privacy. It was a jam packed day with plenty of unusual elements and Jennifer’s organization, creativity and, honestly, it must be magic, resulted in the most gorgeous gallery where not a moment was missed! She listened to our desires and captured not only incredible portraits of us (that we are really struggling to choose between in terms of printing!) but such vivid emotions of all of our loved ones throughout the day.

Jennifer also really understands a newlywed couple and how immediate that pull to relive the day is. She worked incredibly hard to get our photos to us and was excellent following up. We were spoiled with a wonderful preview of our images only weeks after the wedding, and were amazed at how quickly she was able to turn around the final, very high-quality and extensive gallery to us.

When you are wedding planning and you hear that photography is an important investment (and let’s be honest, it can be a large element of your budget) you don’t get to appreciate how truly important it is until the day has flown by and the worry that you missed something coupled with the desire to relive it sets in. It has been so worth it, and we will be eternally grateful to Jennifer for the ability to relive the beauty and feeling of this day for years to come.

We had Jen do our engagement photos in January 2018 and she was our wedding photographer for our September 21 2018 wedding. Jen was so amazing throughout the whole process. She sent us helpful tips and questionnaires to keep us on track and get us thinking about all the little things we needed to figure out.

On the day of our wedding Jen and her assistant Amy were so great at getting everyone together for the shots we wanted and made the whole experience as stress-free as possible. They ensured all the little details (like no sunglasses or wallets in the guys' pockets) were taken care of and made everyone feel natural and comfortable when doing our photos.

Although we haven't seen all of our wedding photos yet, just an amazing preview to tide us over, we know they will be great! We could not be happier with Jen!

Jen is amazing. Period. We stumbled upon her work when we were considering our venue and her photos might have even helped us select our venue. We loved her shots: the moodiness, the scenery captured, and the quiet feeling they provoked. We knew she was a must for us and really didn't listen to other recommendations for photographers...lol. Jen made us feel very comfortable and she's just a gem as a person so it's easy to work with her. On the day of, she led us with such ease - taking us to beautiful locations and we never felt rushed or stressed - just very calm and happy. She managed to capture so many unexpected shots - my own family kept exclaiming that they never knew she was there and yet somehow got those images. We highly recommend Jen for your wedding! She's absolutely wonderful.

Jen came down with us for our destination wedding and I literally can't say enough good things about her. Our dealings with her beforehand made me so excited to spend time with her down in Mexico. She was so professional and so much fun to do our engagement shoot with. She has so many tips and tricks to create candid and wonderful moments with 2 people who aren't the most comfortable in front of a camera. Our entire wedding group of 76 people just loved her (and her husband who joined us), and they were so much fun to have with us the whole week! Our photos are absolutely stunning and perfectly capture the day and the emotions we experienced. So many amazing memories flooded us when we went through them. I want almost every single one of them up on our walls! She also got our photos back to us so timely that I'm convinced she's secretly Wonder Woman. We love Jen and you will too!!

Jennifer Van Son is worth every penny! We knew that wedding photography would be one of our bigger budget items, but we were happily surprised with Jen's prices. Especially when you consider, you are not only paying for beautiful quality photos, you are getting an incredibly talented individual who is passionate about her work and the people she works with.
She allowed us to be our fun, crazy selves (laughing and joking with us on our big day), while still remaining professional and keeping us on tract of schedule.
We had a blast doing our engagement photos with Jen as well. It was a great way to get to know her style and also to help us feel a little more comfortable in front of the camera. The pictures are gorgeous!

Working with Jennifer was an absolute delight. We immediately connected with her during our engagement shoot session because of her warm personality, creative eye and great sense of humour. We felt very relaxed and had a lot of fun with how she lead us into each shot. By the time the wedding rolled around we were at ease and comfortable with her in any situation. Jennifer's documentary style approach guarantees she'll capture candid, sweet, dramatic and even funny moments. She is a keen observer and each photograph tells a unique story.
