Choosing Shawna to officiate our wedding was one of the best decisions we could have made. From the very beginning, she made us feel so comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for. She took the time to get to know David and me, our story, our relationship, and everything that brought us to our wedding day.
Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful and so incredibly personal. Shawna has a true gift for storytelling and connecting with people. She kept everyone engaged, laughing, and emotional in all the right moments. So many of our guests came up to us afterward just to tell us how amazing the ceremony was and how much they enjoyed her.
What makes Shawna so special is that she doesn’t make you feel like you’re just another couple she’s marrying. She truly invests her heart into the people she works with. Her warmth, kindness, humour, and the perfect touch of sass made our ceremony feel completely us.
She didn’t just tell our love story — she felt our love story, and she told it in a way we will cherish forever.
We are incredibly grateful that Shawna was such an important part of our wedding day. She went above and beyond in every way, and somewhere along the way, our wedding commissioner became a friend.

Shawna was amazing, very kind, made the whole process super simple, easy and made the ceremony one to remember.
The whole process was explained in the meeting, the vows were slowed and very manageable to repeat. I would definitely recommend Shawna to everyone. -

Shawna (Weddingbella) is the best officiant out there and does it all. My now husband and I asked our grandmother to officiate our wedding but didn’t want to pay the hefty costs associated with getting my grandmother certified to do so. That’s where Shawna came in. She sat down with me and my husband and we talked over our vision of having my grandmother officiating our wedding. Shawna told us it could be done, and it was. Shawna stood there on the day of my wedding and witnessed my grandmother marry me and my husband, then she signed the papers! No crazy fee’s required! Not only did she listen to the legality of it all, but she wrote out our ceremony in collaboration with my grandmother to make sure it was a professional wedding ceremony, but still in my grandmothers words and me and my husbands vision. It was such a special moment with me, my grandmother, and my husband and one that I will hold with me for ever. Shawna made our wedding ceremony dreams come true and I am forever grateful. When you contacted me to inquire about our Helping Hand services, you were very clear on what you needed from me, but to be very honest, I think your Gran could have created a beautiful ceremony all on her own. She is smart, witty and isn't afraid to talk in front of a crowd, which made her a FABULOUS choice for your "personal officiant"! I had fun meeting with the three of you to chat about what you had envisioned, then Gran and I's follow up chats as we pieced your ceremony together.....together! I'm so glad that I had a bottle of the chocolate and raspberry wine at home to donate to your chocolate and wine ceremony. When you met my husband and I to complete your marriage license in summer, we even sampled a little to make sure you and Alex liked it....your Gran liked it too!! After your chocolate melted overnight, I was relieved to find a replacement at the local ESSO on the way to your ceremony, so that you had all the goodies for your unity ceremony. Watching your Gran officiate at Hawthorn Estates was a joy and she did an AMAZING job!! So much so, that when I reached out to tell her what a wonderful job she did, she told me that she may get her Officiants certification so that she can officiate more ceremonies in the future....and she'd be fabulous! Congratulations to you and Alex! I'm very happy that you were pleased with the Helping Hand services that I provided, leaving you with memories to last a lifetime. Shawna is truly amazing!
Shawna was very kind and responsive since the moment we spoke for the first time. You can tell how much she cares about her job and the couples. She is always positive and super professional. She helped us stay on track to have a very stress-free wedding. I can’t recommend her enough. She’s definitely one of the reasons that our wedding day went so smoothly.Weddingbella's reply:
Congratulations Farnaz and Arman. You were both so chill and relaxed....even when we had to delay the start time due to one of your witnesses running late. I heard he was travelling beside an RCMP all the way to your venue so he couldn't even "try" to get their earlier. haahaa. Sometimes timing is everything. It all worked out great and your friends and family enjoyed a unique Engish/Persian wedding ceremony that you meticulously planned. Being invited to partake in cocktail hour and experience your amazing traditional food was a new experience...one which will stay with me for a very long time. THEN...being invited to dance your traditional dance with you and the wedding party was such an honour (even though I chose to watch from the sidelines). Shawna was so professional! She was so wonderful to work with, and assist with planning our ceremony. She had so many suggestions for the ceremony ideas- which we loved! She was so organized, was great with communication, and was so great with everyone as we got ready for the ceremony, and helped us with being prepared! It was so great to meet with her prior to, and she didn’t make us feel rushed whatsoever! She went over all of the questions we had! We highly suggest Shawna!Weddingbella's reply:

Short notice, Great response
Weddingbella (Shawna) was absolutely wonderful from the beginning of our wedding planning to the end. We contacted Shawna in the morning, she responded right away, that evening we met with her, our marriage licence was completed and our wedding ceremony planning was underway. Shawna has a great personality and made us feel comfortable right from the start. Throughout our planning Shawna helped us with connections to other venders and responded right away to all of our questions. The day of our wedding was stress free and wonderful because of Shawna and we knew she had everything under control. Shawna is a true professional in every manner. We will be forever grateful for everything she did to make our day beautiful.Weddingbella's reply:
