I am a Secular Humanist wedding officiant. I love to create and perform meaningful, thoughtful, and memorable ceremonies. The focus of my ceremonies is the couple, pure and simple. In my ceremonies, I incorporate meaningful readings, personal stories, and traditions or values from your heritage and other cultures. All of my ceremonies are egalitation and do not include theistic language or worship. They are respectful and inclusive and serve the needs of any couple. I have a variety of types of ceremonies to choose from, from very personalized to signing and legalizing your union.

Risa was my high school drama teacher, someone who was incredibly influential in me becoming an actor, and then years later I get to witness her be the officiant of our friend! So of course I had to ask her to be my wife and my officiant!

A beautiful service
In the early stages she asked a lot of great questions and really took the time to get to know our story as a couple. Her overall communication was timely, clear and most of all very helpful. We received many options and tons of great advice. The day-of, she delivered a warm and memorable ceremony exactly as we had envisioned. She was very helpful afterwards as well. She made signing our marriage license a breeze!
You should hire Risa as your officiant! She'll bring a lot of insight, professionalism and personality to the event. You wont regret it

Meet the team
I am a happy to meet you. I have come to being an officiant after Drama teacher for over thirty years.
I love being an officiant which enables me to be connected with people during a very meaningful and important time in their lives. As I have taught writing and written many scripts, I have been able to transfer my skills to creating personalized ceremonies that reflect the couples I am working with. I have also aquired a large library of many poems and readings that I can draw upon and that you can choose from to create your ceremony.
Besides being an officiant, I am a mother, and a wife. I am passionate about trying to make the world a better place and spend a lot of my time raising money and awareness in that regard. Being a Humanist, for me, means that my actions need to have meaning and that I have a responsiblity to try and do my best to do no harm to others and our planet. Travel and to seeing the world is another love of mine.
