Meet the team
My passion for performing weddings begins with meeting couples to customize their wedding ceremony and providing pre-marriage counseling.
I was born in England to Jamaican parents and grew up in Jamaica with extended family until I came to join my mother in Canada in the early ’70s.
I am a graduate of the University of Guelph with a degree in Justice Studies and have been a police officer since 1988.
I was ordained as a minister in 2018 and my calling is bringing the word to seniors in retirement homes.
Performing weddings is very cathartic for me as the love that fills these ceremonies brings me great joy.

Hi, I'm Hazel Shanks, an Ordained Wedding Officiant with decades of ministry and event planning experience. I am happily married and love helping others on their journey to wedded bliss!
My goal is to create and deliver a personalized ceremony with passion and the utmost professionalism while we have fun along the way.
I am available to perform your ceremony at the location of your choice, whether you're celebrating with all your family and friends or its just the two of you in an intimate affair, I am here for you.
