Based in Toronto, Ontario, the Eighth Street Orchestra is a premier, family-led jazz band that has spent nearly two decades defining the standard for luxury event entertainment. The ESO is renowned for their unparalleled showmanship and its ability to breathe new life into the historic sounds of jazz legends like Louis Armstrong and Kid Ory. For clients seeking the ultimate grand spectacle, we also offer a magnificent, expanded 18-piece jazz orchestra, a musical powerhouse capable of delivering the sweeping, iconic arrangements of legends from the Golden Age of jazz, like Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. Whether providing an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere or the full-throttle energy of a Big Band, our ensemble brings a level of precision and artistry that guarantees an unforgettable evening.
What truly sets the Eighth Street Orchestra apart is our adventurous, genre-bending approach to the modern songbook. While we are deeply rooted in jazz tradition, we are celebrated for our signature swing reimagining of contemporary hits, transforming tracks from artists as diverse as the Beatles and Beyoncé, or even the high-energy anthems of Alice Cooper and Avril Lavigne, into timeless vintage masterpieces. This versatility allows us to curate a bespoke musical journey that resonates across generations, making us the top choice for high-value clients who demand both classic elegance and a modern, creative edge.
The ESO feature world-class musicians; internationally renowned and award-winning artists, including a 2026 Grammy winner. Our members are fixtures on the global stage, having performed at high-prestige events such as Coachella and the Newport Jazz Festival. Collectively, our team has shared stages and studios with the greatest icons of the industry, including Herbie Hancock, Renee Rosnes, Benny Benack III, Jon Batiste, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The Eighth Street Orchestra understands the nuances of elite event production. We don't just provide music; we deliver a premier cultural experience built on two decades of family-led excellence and a reputation that is second to none!
