  Happy with MUAH Outcome; Not Happy with Posting on Social Media

  Noor is talented and executed exactly what I asked for, however, what I did not appreciate was her defensiveness when I asked not to be on social media. This happened immediately at the onset of my appointment with her. When I indicated I did not want to be recorded for Tik Tok/IG stories she immediately responded with "it's in the contract." Mind you, I did not sign this part of the contract, so therefore, I did not provide this consent in writing. I also do not use social media myself, and appreciate privacy. Not wanting to argue with the artist on the day of my wedding, I begrudgingly let it be. I'm sure she could tell I was uncomfortable, but she didn't seem to care and recorded a good portion of my makeup application using a device which she mounted onto the window sill. A week later it appeared on both her IG and TikTok platforms. If a client asks not to be recorded in THEIR home for your social media, then respect that. Apart from this, I have nothing negative to say, but nevertheless, it soured my mood a bit on the day of.

You had given your consent for recording the makeup process, as well as the photos, which is why that was done. There may be a miscommunication, because whether it is in the contract or not, we highly respect our clients' privacy. I wish you had communicated this when it was posted (or afterwards via email) so that we could have resolved this sooner. I have gone ahead and removed it from social media.

  Hair not what I wanted

  The makeup was nice but I was really looking forward to getting a specific hairstyle which I was assured will be created for me. But it didn’t look like what I wanted. During the hair styling process, I expressed my concern that it didn’t look how I wanted multiple times and each time was told it would settle and look like the photo I wanted but it didn’t. Sure, the hair looked nice, but I was so excited to get a specific style done (which was in their portfolio too) and it wasn’t delivered.

  The makeup was nice but I was really looking forward to getting a specific hairstyle which I was assured will be created for me. But it didn’t look like what I wanted. During the hair styling process, I expressed my concern that it didn’t look how I wanted multiple times and each time was told it would settle and look like the photo I wanted but it didn’t. Sure, the hair looked nice, but I was so excited to get a specific style done (which was in their portfolio too) and it wasn’t delivered.

As recommended by your day-of Artist on the trial day, purchasing hair extensions would make a big difference in your hair since your hair was not as voluminous and long. Since you decided against them, the artist took the pictures you showed as inspiration, and gave you a hairstyle you still looked beautiful in.

  Horrible Experience, Very Unorganized

  COVID hit all vendors hard, but I think Noor and her team mismanaged very badly. I will not be recommending this "luxury bridal service to anyone". As, this was the vendor that gave me the most stress, and was the most disorganized.
  
  1. I booked my wedding makeup around November 2020, for a July 2021 wedding. From Jan 2021 I was messaging asking for a trial every single month, to which COVID was given as the reason why trials could not be scheduled in advance. When I stated that other vendors are being flexible and do book appointments beforehand, and then cancel given COVID restrictions a week or two before, I was told they dont want brides cancelling appointments and emailing them about it and they dont ask me what other vendors do, and this is their policy. But, this is a premium bridal service, I paid over 1.4k for this. I do expect some sort of administrative flexibility. I kept emailing every month, and then June 14th I was told they will book me in for a trial. 2 days later I was told I will not be getting a trial as the makeup artist works 9-5 and then also is busy during the weekends. IF the makeup artist has a very strict schedule and limited trial times, this is something you should communicate to the bride BEFOREHAND. I would have chosen differently, if I knew getting a trial would be this difficult. IDK what they were thinking not booking trials beforehand and cancelling if the phases changed, with a makeup artist with limited time capacity. I would have been happy if I felt like the NOOR team made an effort to book a trial which was then cancelled due to COVID. Not a team that made NO effort at all, and was just making excuses. I was stressed, and anxious about my makeup and hair on the wedding day because of this.
  
  2. I asked for an earlier start time a year before the wedding, which was approved. The week before my wedding where I sent the formal summary email, I was told the hairstylist can come for 4:00am, but makeup will be 4:30am and they were making an exception. When I clarified that this request was already approved a YEAR ago, they said it was for another event I cancelled. When I stated that there was only one event and it was this event, I just got a "oh please trust us, you have more than enough time". No, I don't trust you, because you have been inconsistent and are disorganized.
  
  3. I, as the bride, was on time and ready for the hairstylist to arrive. Brides get penalized for even half an hour the artist is left waiting (which I agree), but my makeup artist who was first supposed to arrive at 4am, and then 4:30am, did not come in until 4:55am. So they were the ones that were later, where is my compensation?
  
  4. While signing the contract, I said please send a reminder email when the second payment is due. All my other vendors did this, and I know there are automated systems that will send the email (maybe invest in one??), but when I reached out to them for something else they said your payment is two days late, but we wont charge you the fees. I immediately sent the payment, but  reminder emails are something that is expected of a luxury bridal service.
  
  5. I also didn't like my makeup, the foundation was a little too dark and the lip color was horrible. When asked to fix the makeup artist did another swatch and then kind of just left? I changed the lip color afterwards. But, I didn't feel beautiful or confident at all.
  
  6. When booking I asked for Hair by Fero, without even informing me of the change the day of my wedding someone else came in. That was extremely unprofessional to not be informed of a change. As a new artist means a different style, that I am not aware of or book for...
  
  7. I truly felt that, they hold the brides 100% accountable to the contract that was written before COVID really hit, so bridal flexibility due to COVID wasn't given and every ask was met with it "this isnt in the contract, there is this fee, this is what we agreed", but they changed their policies etc to fit their specific needs and gave themselves a lot of flexibility.
  
  I would not recommend this service to anyone who wants to have a stress free bridal makeup experience. They are an administrative nightmare, and provide service that is worth way less than what you paid for.

We are sad to hear that you didn't find our efforts enough for accommodating: last minute trial requests (you declined the dates that were offered to you), multiple time changes (including delay on the day of), location changes, special accommodation for saree drop off. We were happy to accommodate these while waiving all fees.
  
  Your wedding day look was absolutely stunning (we shared on Instagram, and received an amazing response) :)
  
  Unfortunately we do not change the colour of someone's skin with makeup, and we think you have a beautiful skin tone, which we enhanced with makeup, and brightened with highlighting. Our team never leaves without ensuring the client is happy! Our understanding is that the lip colour was changed 3 times before you indicated "omg, yes this is perfect".
  
  Our team is always here to ensure our brides have a beautiful day, and from the looks of it, you looked GORGEOUS. Wishing you our best!

  Exceptionally Talented, Professional, and Caring!

  There are so many things that make Noor an outstanding choice for bridal hair and makeup. She has a remarkable talent for her work and demonstrates exemplary professionalism. Her style provides for a flawless and modern beauty which photographs so well and also looks perfect in person. Besides that, she is such a sweet and kind person, and a well-rounded intellectual lady with whom it's so easy to talk about anything in the world for hours on. Highly recommend Noor for bridal hair and makeup (and to make her your future best friend too haha)!

  Talented but unprofessional, disorganized

  If you prize pure talent over basic professionalism, business ethics, and trustworthiness then I would highly recommend Noor.
  
  I booked a bridal H&M trial mid March and did my session March 30. My flawless makeup application was overshadowed by poor execution on hair despite clear picture examples of my desired aesthetic.
  
  In spite of this, I wanted to move forward given Noor’s terrific makeup skill. I proceeded with a clear email less than 24 hours from my trial on 1) request for next steps and a live call that day (a clear intention to hire) 2) request for the pictures of styles we did (to avoid those errors in my wedding day) and 3) a copy of my receipt as I was charged cash + tax per initial email instructions (no proof of purchase was provided at time of sale).
  
  A haphazard response 8 hours later only addressed 1) that a 30% retainer to secure the services was needed (a steep ~$360 considering the mixed performance on the trial) and 2) only 1 picture of at least 5 taken of the hair. I made a second request for the receipt in swift response, only to receive a response 20 hours later saying no receipt could be provided. Flexibility on a time to connect live / telephonically was yet to be offered, in spite my international travel involved for the trial and obvious eagerness to proceed with the contract.
  
  I continued with repeated attempts to connect live but another 24 hours later, just 3 days from my original trial I was informed another bride had been booked.
  
  The fact that another contract was being negotiated despite my good faith interactions was simply insult to injury and the rationales of “first come first serve” were equally unprofessional.
  
  While an unfortunate trial situation for me, I’m relieved such poor form was not an experience I would be vulnerable to on my wedding day.

  I'm sorry, Fatima, me not being able to commit to your wedding date did not have anything to do with professionalism and ethics. From the very first contact with clients, they are clearly informed that our availability changes daily, due to incoming bookings. We do not hold dates, and appointments are only confirmed with a retainer and a signed contract.
  
  An exception was made for your trial and a weekend slot was offered to you, although weekends are reserved for bridal bookings only. During your trial, you did not follow the prep instructions that were sent, and brought several hairstyle pictures that were very different from each other. As I noted then, this made it difficult to understand your vision. Despite that, we landed on a hairstyle that you "loved". I took pictures for my own reference, and sent you two. If you had requested for more, I would have sent them to you.
  
  After the trial, you were reminded twice that another bride was interested in moving forward with booking us. At that time, you were only interested in receiving the receipt. We do not, and can not put dates on hold simply based on interest, as it is unfair to the brides who are ready to put a retainer down and sign a contract.
  
  Our response times are very clearly communicated in our auto-reply, that due to the nature of our work, we are out of the office Friday - Sunday, with limited access to email & phone. However, you sent multiple emails over the weekend expecting a swift response. A receipt was sent to you first thing in the morning. Our contracts are not "negotiated" as per your review above. We often receive bookings that get confirmed within 24 hours of initial communication, because our booking system is very fast. Unfortunately, another bride beat you to it, and secured our services for the same date as your wedding, before you decided that you wanted to secure our services (3 days after).
  
  I love what I do, and disappointing brides in need is my biggest challenge, even with a team of 7 artists! Wishing you all the best in the remainder of your wedding planning, as it's still a few months away. Stay positive, and I am sure you will be a beautiful bride!

  Awesome experience

  I booked noor artistry for my e-shoot and I was booked with zara for my hair and make up. First of all shes an absolute sweetheart, amazing customer service! Also, She did a phenomenal job making me look absolutely stunning. She did exactly what i had wanted without going over board. I felt absolutely amazing in my hair and make up. The make up stayed on perfect throughout my entire e-shoot. 
  
  Got tons of compliments from everyone! Even my fiance loved it.  I will definitely be booking with zara again in the future. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

  Bridal Hair and Makeup

  Hi Noor,
  Words cannot express how thankful I am to you for making me look and feel so beautiful on my wedding day. You are so incredibly talented and the sweetest person! My makeup and hair was honestly perfect and I felt like myself, which was important to me. Looking back, I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. From the makeup shades you chose for me to my curls to the hairpiece – everything was perfect! I was feeling so comfortable in my makeup all day and my curls lasted all evening as well, even my lipstick stayed on for a long time.
  
  Thank you so much, Noor for making me feel and look like a princess on my wedding day. I am so happy that I found you a few years ago to do my engagement shoot and now my wedding. My mom and sisters were so happy with their looks as well, they really loved their makeup and hairstyles.   The perfect glam team

  I can’t say enough good things about Noor and her team. I was on vacation visiting Toronto from NY for my engagement photos. I searched Instagram and fell in love with their natural style or both hair and makeup. Day of, I felt so comfortable with them, they really listened to all my requests and gave me everything I asked for. When I looked in the mirror I literally gasped LOL I love how my engagement photos turned out. I recommend them to anyone who likes a soft romantic editorial look!! So amazing. Noor is the sweetest besides!

  Loved loved loved Noor Artistry

  From the trial, to the engagement pictures, to the actual wedding day- the ladies at Noor Artistry blew me away. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly talented, professional, punctual, receptive and easy to work with. I don’t generally like to wear a lot of make-up but they were able to find a happy medium between enough coverage without looking caked on. I would not have changed 1 thing. My mom and sister were extremely happy with their services as well!
  Everyone commented on how perfect our hair and makeup were and the photos look like a magazine shoot.
  Special thanks to Sara for being so detailed oriented. I can't wait to use the team in the future!
  

  From the trial, to the engagement pictures, to the actual wedding day- the ladies at Noor Artistry blew me away. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly talented, professional, punctual, receptive and easy to work with. I don’t generally like to wear a lot of make-up but they were able to find a happy medium between enough coverage without looking caked on. I would not have changed 1 thing. My mom and sister were extremely happy with their services as well!
  Everyone commented on how perfect our hair and makeup were and the photos look like a magazine shoot.
  Special thanks to Sara for being so detailed oriented. I can't wait to use the team in the future!

  Noor was an absolute pleasure to work with! She did an amazing job on my MUAH for my wedding reception and I was in love with the final product. She was very sweet, patient and easy to work with. I had mentioned to Noor that I wanted a simple fresh look for my reception and she delivered! I would definitely recommend Noor for any events and will book her again in the future. :)
