I recently booked Avryl and her team (Allison and Krysten) for my wedding in Niagara. (5 of us required hair/makeup services). Had a good overall experience with Avryl and her team. One negative was that the makeup and hair stylists did not know each other and I assumed Avryl had a team that worked together on multiple occasions. This would have made the experience more enjoyable as it was a little awkward between the two. These girls worked on my bridesmaids, mother and mother in law. The hair stylist (Allison) was very accommodating as my mother in law was fussy and also washed her hair right before styling (which she was asked not to do). I felt the only awkward part was at the end when I felt like the makeup and hair stylists (Allison and Krysten) expected a tip. I felt the charge for the service was enough and didn’t think then went above and beyond to deserve an extra tip. The styles and makeup were mediocre.
Avryl came later to work on myself the bride. She did a good job with my hair and it stayed in all night. I felt she could have been more creative in the style and details. My makeup was done well and lasted all night. She applied an airbrush which helped achieve a photo finish look. I didn’t feel like a had a ton of makeup on (perfect for our July wedding). My eye makeup however was mediocre and I felt she could have been more creative based on her skill. I also had false lashes put on already and she had me brush them out myself after makeup application. I felt as the bride she could/should have done this.
Also found it unprofessional that Avryl handed her stylists an envelope with their pay in front of myself and wedding party. I just felt like this was something that sound have been done at a different time. Also felt like she hired them third party and they didn’t work for her on a regular basis. Felt like we had three separate stylists (1 hair, 1 makeup and 1 for the bride) hired separately.
Avryl also did my daughters hair (she’s 2 and a half) which was my biggest complaint! She charged me $35 which is not much…however…all she did were two small braids connected at the back with bobby pins. I expected a little more for the price and it didn’t stay in long. She has naturally curly hair so I assumed she would be able to do something more than I would be able to do myself.
Overall the hair/makeup stylists (Allison and Krysten) were very pleasant and adaptable.

I would like to correct a few things in respect to my staff. I have worked with Kyrsten for numerous years and have never had a complaint. She is always personable and listens to her clients concerns and suggestions. We always encourage feedback even during the physical makeup application process so that everyone walks away happy with the result. If anyone had any concerns at all during the process, this should have been addressed with her immediately.
Allison was added last minute as one of my other staff members was unavailable to commit due to a family crisis and Allison was reccommended by someone else. This sometimes can happen and as a business owner I have to make that call in order to keep the process going.
Myself and my staff never expect a tip ( this is merely suggested on the invoice) - I was never aware of or could see anyone asking for a tip at the end while I was there. I apologize if this was implied.
Regarding your hair and makeup, I always strive to acheive the best look possible especially on the bride as you are the spotlight. Unfortunately we did not do a trial beforehand which I always suggest so we can get a clear picture of how it will look on the wedding day. If there were any issues during the styling process, I was unaware as there was no negative feedback from you while I was workung on your hair and makeup.
For the lash extensions, I always ask the client to brush them out afterwards because this was not a service I provided. This would have become a liability for me. I have never had an issue about in the past. This protects myself as well as your stylist that applied them.
Addressing the issue of payment, I pay some of my staff via cash as per their request which is what happened on this occasion. I apologize if this made it seem unprofessional. The only one I handed physically their payment was Kyrsten and there was no one at her station when this was done, for Allison I left it at her station and again no one was there while this was being done to alleviate any akwardness.
In regards to your daughter's hair, I was trying to work with the length that she had and also not keep her in the chair for a long period of time. I made sure that she felt special and made sure the flower crown was adjusted properly as well. She seemed all smiles afterwards - if there were any issues I would have reccommended you approached me privately to address these isssues you had.
Overall I felt ( as per the reactions of everyone including yourself) that all were happy with the final look. If this wasn't the case there was sufficient time to address these issues with myself and my assistants.
I will definitely keep this concern for learning to better ourselves as stylists/artists. Our number one priority is making our clients feel special and beautiful.

Amazing hair and makeup
Avryl was incredible. Myself and my bridesmaids were so happy with our hair and makeup. My mom loved it as well, which was cool because she doesn't wear makeup whatsoever. You won't be disappointed!!

Amazing job, friendly service
My ladies and I loved the work that Avryl and Christhine did for my wedding! They were flexible, kind and accommodating and did such a wonderful job! I was completely obsessed with my hair and make up and wish I was that pampered all the time! Would definitely recommend Makeup Jedi!

Wonderful experience!
Avryl was amazing from trial to day of! After the trial we discussed some changes in colour tones of the makeup, and the day of it was PERFECT. Avryl listened to my inexperienced opinions of every detail and did it no problem!
Highly recommend for both hair and makeup. The airbrushing was great - worked for all ages (20s and 50s)!

Avryl is amazing
Avryl was my sisters hair and makeup artist for her wedding and I knew I wanted to have her for our wedding as well. Her team made all of my bridesmaids feel beautiful. The whole process with Avryl was so easy. She took my feedback from the trial and made me feel amazing on the wedding day. I would recomend Avryl to all of my friends that get married in the future. Perfection that even withstood high winds!
Avryl was absolutely amazing from the moment I reached out to inquire about her services. I’m not one to wear a lot of makeup or do my hair so I didn’t come with much but on my trail she nailed EXACTLY what I wanted. She is so calm and personable and you can tell she has so much experience. My MOH and mom both loved their hair&makeup and it lasted ALL day. I was worried about my hair since our ceremony was on a rooftop on a SUPER windy day but it held up and still looked great at the end of the evening. I would 100% recommend Avryl to anyone! She truly made me feel like a princess on my special day!

Perfect hair and makeup that lasted all day!
Avryl and her team were incredible on my wedding day! They handled hair and makeup for 9 of us including my bridal party, mom, MIL, SIL, and niece. Everyone's hair and makeup (especially my own) was beautifully done and lasted all day without needing touch-ups! In addition to my wedding day look, I had Avryl do my hair and makeup for my engagement shoot and a trial ahead of the wedding. Each time she was patient and flexible with making any changes I wanted to achieve my desired look. Not only is she an incredibly professional and talented makeup artist and hair stylist, but Avryl played the role of motivational speaker and therapist during my wedding day session because I was so excited I had slept less than 3 hours and my anxiety was running high. She handled a very high-strung bride (me) with grace and made sure I felt like the most beautiful bride ever! I highly recommend Makeup Jedi for all your beauty needs!

Simply the best!
Had Avryl Cristhine and Binu for my wedding day. They were amazing! So great to work with, and did beautiful work with our hair and makeup. Our hair and make up lasted all day through the scorching heat and humidity. Really impressive!
