I had an important job leading yoga at the Music Is Art Festival. I hired Laura to do my hair and makeup for the event based on the recommendation of someone else. The day of the event was hectic and I needed her to come over at 5:30 a.m. Laura promptly arrived, was cheerful, and ready to get to work! (Impressive given the time of day.) She was great at communicating with me in advance and truly listened to my personal needs like my skin sensitivity and hair needing to hold up in an active situation -- evident by the end results. I did hair modeling in the past, so I am picky given my experience getting professional updos of all kinds. It was the best hair and makeup job I ever got!!!! Laura exceeded my expectations in every way. My hair held up to perfection for two days. The makeup was natural looking and flawless. I received lots of complements at the event and thru social media. Laura was also very personal, calming my nerves about the event and leaving me with a personalized makeup goodie bag filled with essentials I may need later like tissues, some of my custom blended cover up, sponges, and more! Her attention to detail with everything was phenomenal. I would definitely hire Laura Amaya Beauty again, and I told her that if I ever won the lottery, she would be my top choice for a personal hair and makeup artist. -

Laura was a superstar! She did both my hair and make up for the my wedding as well as hair for 3 others. Her prices were very reasonable - especially for how amazing everyone looked!! She was so friendly and helpful, and she made everything so easy. -

Laura was extremely wonderful to work with, she was very responsive to my emails and super flexible about the style of make up I wanted for my wedding. I paid extra for the trial run and was glad 8 did because it made me feel more comfortable and at ease going through the process on the day of the wedding.
Laura was always on time and was extremely professional, thank you! -

I was initially worried about hiring someone to do my makeup for my wedding as I wear makeup every day and I wanted my wedding makeup to look even better than my everyday makeup. Laura was incredible! She was very responsive to the full glam vision that I had for my wedding makeup and she executed it flawlessly! She also has a fun personality and definitely puts you at ease. We loved working with her! -

Talented, personable, amazing!
I cannot say enough about Laura, my first experience having my makeup done was my wedding. It was important to me to feel beautiful but look like my self and not overly made over. Laura’s talent is incredible! Since then Laura has done my make up for my pregnancy photos and other special occasions. I wouldn’t use anyone else! -

Extremely Disappointed
I was a bridesmaid in a wedding where Laura was hired to provide two makeup artists and two hair professionals. We expected Laura to provide a team that matched the trial experience. Unfortunately, the team she brought was extremely unprofessional and not qualified. They could not stay on schedule and several bridesmaids needed to rely on each other to fix each others’ hairstyles. Paying in advance was a major drawback because she did not at all deliver the product that she had promised. Truly a terrible experience and I would discourage anyone from using Laura in the future. She is not capable of selecting a competent team and did not deliver what she was paid for two weeks in advance. Our bride tried to be diplomatic, but Laura was tone deaf to our concerns and did not care about her clients’ interests. After this experience, I will NEVER have anyone do my hair the morning of a wedding besides my personal hair professional. We paid way too much for such a shoddy product. I am creating an account just to spare other brides the risk of hiring Laura. If I could rate her zero stars, I absolutely would. -

Laura did an amazing job at hair and makeup for my wedding. What was most important for me was that I had an artist who understood brown skin. She made my skin look flawless and I have never felt more beautiful! -
