We had some pretty specific requests regarding music for our wedding, and Mr Akil D not only made it happen, but he did it with kindness, style and energy. He kept everyone on the dance floor until they kicked us out of the venue. So much positive energy and really pleasant to deal with. We'd be so excited to go to another event and find out that he is the DJ. Highly recommend, 10/10.

What can we say about Akil? Just, wow. My husband and I are fortunate enough to have known DJ Mr. Akil D for many years and even had the chance of working with him in the past for events/business. Never once did we have a complaint about him - or maybe that he was just THAT good? Can that even be a complaint? So it was a no-brainer when it came to deciding who would be our DJ for the biggest and most memorable day of our lives.
Not only is he a multi-faceted DJ who can also host/MC, who knows how to work a room; but he's the utmost professional in his line of work. He made sure the vibe flowed and adjusted/pivoted without a hiccup. Things are constantly changing on the day of, and you want someone who will make sure the flow of the night is something you two shouldn't have to stress about. We didn't. Everyone had a blast, and big thanks goes to Akil for making sure everyone did.
We cannot recommend Akil enough to our friends and guests who are planning a wedding, special event, or milestone. He does it all (WOW!). I know we'll have him again in another special event in the near future! Don't wait, book him now because we know how highly sought out he is!

Mr. Akil D aka Mr. Perfect
We cannot say enough great things about Akil. His levels of professionalism and flexibility are unmatched. We had a bit of a hiccup with another vendor which would be playing live music during the ceremony and when Akil heard he was ready to jump in last minute to fill in. He was on site hours prior to the start of the events making sure everything was perfect, some DJ’s will show up 10 minutes prior but not Akil, treats every wedding like his own and only accepts perfection.
Akil was able to go with the flow and make changes with ease, if it was speeding up timing of sequence of events or noticing the crowd not responding well with certain music options, he was able to keep the party going to the very end.
Akil treats every wedding as if it was his own, to ensure everything you imagine comes true and make it as stress-free as possible. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to go with Akil as our DJ, if we would rate him higher than 5/5 we definitely would.

Amazing jams for my wedding night.
Akil rocked the crowd at my wedding reception. He came in early and gave himself extra time to set up.
He was very easy to communicate with because he was very responsive from the beginning till the end.
He brought the crowd to their feet after the dinner and when the dance floor opened! He also MC the bouquet toss!! Would recommend to anyway who wants a upbeat wedding DJ!

Akil was AMAZING - first off, he is insanely cool, extremely versatile, and very professional! He DJ'd our wedding the the Eglinton West Gallery on April 23, 2022, where we had a wide range of different age groups and musical tastes, and he was able to cater to them all! Wedding DJ
Throughout my whole wedding I felt like I was having an out of body experience, so I can't remember much, but what I do remember was how many of my guests came up to me during and after the wedding telling me how great my Deejay was. My wedding was catering to a Caribbean and Egyptian crowd (strange, I know, lol) and Akil was able to mix and blend the tunes seamlessly. I had an extensive list of songs that I wanted played and tbh, I'm not sure my list even mattered lol. The smooth transition from one song to the next made me feel as if I was in a fairytale. Loved every moment of it. Will definitely be booking Akil in the future!!!

We hired Akil thorugh Soul Power to do our wedding "party" at a bar in Parkdale. He was reliable and totally understood the vibe we were going for without us having to make any song list. During the night if there was ever a lull, Akil got the party started again made sure the dance floor was bumping. We would recommend Akil 100 times over - he is worth every penny!!!!

Amazing! Great Value for Money!
DJ Akil was our DJ and MC for the big day. He was easy to work with, responsive, helpful, and professional. As we were having a multicultural wedding, I was worried about finding a DJ who could accommodate many styles of music and Akil did a great job doing so!! He was also a great host and kept the wedding reception flowing as planned. I would definitely recommend him!!

Definitely Recommend!
Akil made our wedding reception AMAZING. We had a bit of a Michael Jackson theme and he catered to that perfectly. He met with us twice before the wedding and listened to what we wanted... and delivered! He catered to the vibe we were going for and our guests loved it. We're still getting compliments on how fun the party was. Our guests were a mixed crowd and every single person was on the dance floor from start to finish. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Our special day
Akil was incredibly easy to work with and understood exactly what kind of atmosphere we wanted at our reception. He always had guests dancing despite it being a small wedding.
We had hired an electric violinist and Akil worked seemlessly with her to create a memeorable and unique musical experience.
He had ideas and suggestions for when we didn’t have any of our own that helped to shape the night into what we had envisioned it would be.
