We hosted my son’s wedding at Plaza Rive Nord, the wedding took place in this Magical transparent tent, we felt we are sitting under the stars. It was so beautiful. I want to take the opportunity to thank the team for everything they have done in making this day so special for our family and guests. From helping us the day prior for the setup, all the hospitality and service and all the attention to details during the wedding. Everything was perfect from start to finish.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING PLAZA RIVE-NORD FOR YOUR WEDDING — PLEASE READ THIS FIRST

I attended an event there recently and what I witnessed needs to be shared publicly so other families can make an informed decision before signing a contract.

🚨 ACCESSIBILITY — POTENTIALLY ILLEGAL
The washrooms are only accessible by stairs. No elevator. No accommodation for persons with limited mobility. A guest at this event was forced to urinate outside because he physically could not get upstairs. I saw a pregnant guest nearly fall on the unstable staircase. Under Quebec's Code de construction, public assembly venues are required to provide accessible washrooms. This venue does not.

🚨 WASHROOM IN DISREPAIR — SAFETY HAZARD
For those who could make it upstairs, the conditions were no better. A toilet stall door fell completely off its hinges during the event. This is not wear and tear — this is a venue that is not being maintained to a basic standard of safety.

🚨 SERVICES CUT OFF AT MIDNIGHT — MID-PARTY
At midnight — while the celebration was in full swing — the venue began removing all services. Bar. Food. Staff. Gone. No warning. No grace period. The party was shut down at its peak. If you are expecting an evening reception that runs its natural course, know that this venue has a hard cutoff that they do not appear to communicate clearly upfront.

🚨 FOOD SAFETY CONCERNS
Meat was served cold, undercooked, and in some cases appeared frozen. The family had to bring in food from an outside supplier mid-event to feed their own guests. This is not a minor catering hiccup — this is a failure to provide safe, edible food.

🚨 DIETARY RESTRICTIONS IGNORED
Restrictions communicated well in advance were not respected. For guests with allergies or medical dietary needs, this is not acceptable.

🚨 BASIC VENUE FAILURES
— AC system was ineffective and uneven
— Mosquitoes inside the hall
— No paved parking (mud when wet)
— Bar ran out of soft drinks; ice, wine, and water not restocked well before midnight

🚨 MANAGEMENT RESPONSE
When the family raised every one of these issues, they received no acknowledgment whatsoever. Management became defensive and aggressive. Zero accountability.

Families spend enormous amounts of money and trust on their wedding day. They deserve transparency. Do not book this venue without asking very hard questions first — including exactly when they plan to pull the plug on your celebration.

We booked our wedding early 2025 after visiting multiple locations.
Now that our wedding took place early June and we are back from our honeymoon, we can say that we definitely did the right choice. Everything was organized, the food was excellent and Tahr the floor manager was very helpful from the moment we meet him until the end of our special day. It's a very unique experience as they do one wedding at a time, so we had the whole place for our guests. The only thing I think they should change is the location of the parking for the cars so it wouldn't be visual from the tent as the tent is fully transparent.
But a the end I would like to say that we enjoyed every moment. Thank you Plaza Rive Nord.

Nous avons célébré notre mariage dans cet endroit récemment. Si la nourriture était vraiment excellente et que le site est visuellement splendide, notre expérience a malheureusement été fortement ternie par une gestion désorganisée et un manque flagrant de professionnalisme.

Dès le départ, plusieurs services nous ont été promis par le responsable, Peter (Plaza rive sud et nord) : accès au site tôt le matin pour les préparatifs, transport prévu pour les personnes âgées ou à mobilité réduite, accompagnement sur place. Aucun de ces engagements n’a été respecté. Moi-même et ma planificatrice avons dû faire face à un stress constant lié non seulement à ces services absents, mais aussi à la qualité générale de la communication.

La nouvelle organisatrice sur place, Melina (employée de Peter), a manqué à plusieurs reprises à ses engagements et à sa parole. Elle a fait preuve d’un sérieux manque de professionnalisme et de rigueur, ce qui a nui au bon déroulement de notre journée. Les informations circulaient mal, et il a fallu répéter et reconfirmer plusieurs fois des détails pourtant déjà établis.

Le point le plus inacceptable : le soir même de notre mariage, on nous a informés à la dernière minute que la musique devait cesser à 23h et que les invités devaient commencer à quitter les lieux – une directive qui n’apparaissait nulle part dans le contrat. Cette annonce de dernière minute, en pleine soirée, a causé énormément de stress. Ma planificatrice a même dû demander une rencontre avec le propriétaire pendant la réception. Ce genre d’improvisation est tout simplement inacceptable pour un événement aussi important.

En résumé : si le lieu est beau et la cuisine irréprochable, la gestion laisse énormément à désirer. Pour un événement comme un mariage, où chaque détail compte, je ne recommande pas cet endroit.

Surrounded by nature? Got it! Rustic vibes? Got it! Quiet and secluded area? Got it! Personal touches? Got it! Easy to get to (by car)? Got it!

Plaza Rive Nord was the second, and last, venue we visited and we could not be happier with the decision. From the moment we met with the venue coordinator, Melina, the vibes were all around immaculate. There was never any pressure to increase our budget or purchase things that we did not have any interest in. If we had any questions, we could always get an answer within a few days and never needed to worry about anything since they were always on top of things and willing to accomodate.

Melina is an absolute star and I am honestly not sure how she does it all! From writing up our invoice very quickly, to staying at the venue until 9:30pm the night before the wedding to help us decorate, and then staying at the wedding reception until 12am to check up on us in case we needed anything else, she was always there when we needed her.
Many of our guests loved the food, including the ones with allergies or food intolerances/preferences, and many of them asked "where we found this place? because it is so nice!".

I highly recommend Plaza Rive Nord to any couples planning their wedding and that want it to have a rustic and natural touch.
