Carmelle Sent on 21/08/2025Would Recommend With Caution—Hire Your Own Coordinator
We recently held our wedding at this venue, and while the space itself is beautiful and budget-friendly, the experience with the event management team left much to be desired.
Leading up to the big day, we had multiple meetings to go over details with the coordinator (included in the package). We complied with all requirements, but when the wedding came, we were surprised to learn that a completely different coordinator—whom we had never spoken with until the rehearsal—would be handling the event. This created confusion and inconsistency in communication.
Another point of frustration was the lack of clarity around the coordinator’s responsibilities. We were assured that they would assist with the ceremony process, which is why we didn’t hire an outside host or coordinator. However, only a day before the wedding we were told that making announcements (such as guiding guests for photos) was not part of their role. This left us scrambling to fill that gap at the last minute. On top of that, each time we had questions, we felt like we were being passed around instead of receiving clear, direct answers.
It’s also worth noting that despite requesting to go by my preferred name during planning, the name I specifically asked not to be used was still displayed on the TV screen, confusing some guests. After pointing this out, I received no apology or even acknowledgment of the oversight.
Smaller details also added up—for example, the fact that they’re still not using Bluetooth speakers in 2025 unless you pay extra. Food was fine, but nothing remarkable.
Overall, while the venue itself looked great and our wedding day was still filled with wonderful moments, the professionalism and quality of service from the event management team fell short. If I could redo the planning process, I would strongly consider hiring a separate coordinator to ensure a smoother, less stressful experience.

Mae H. Sent on 20/11/2024Perfect Venue if you want an Indoor Ceremony!
We picked Westwood because the indoor ceremony space was beautiful. The interior is stunning and the food was amazing! I would recommend if you like a club-like dance floor bring your own party lights because their light system does not dim, so its on or off. Luckily our neon sign was super bright and our light up sticks added the fun to the dance floor! We did not opt to get chair covers. The chairs aren't bad and once people are sitting in them it doesn't even matter what they look like. The dance floor is great, the option to stand out on the balcony was amazing! They accommodated Celiac and Vegan dietary requests very well and gave them plated meals. The buffet had so many options for everyone though, my guests all raved about the food especially the late night poutine bar! BIG HIT!GreenTee Country Club Westwood Plateau's reply:

We had an amazing wedding at Westwood! The day of wedding coordinator was amazing and made us feel comfortable and confident with the whole experience. The venue is beautiful and the food was amazing! -

This venue was everything I could have ever dreamed for, and more. The whole wedding/events department was a breeze to work with, Stephanie, Danielle, and Lala was an awesome day-of-coordinator. I didn't have to hire many other vendors because they have so many in-house services. Food, ceremony and reception locations, linens, seats, decor, florals, bridal suites to get ready, some planning and a full day-of-coordinator. I felt almost no wedding stress the entire time I worked with them. I knew that they host many weddings every year and know exactly what to expect. We chose Westwood Plateau because it was in our own neighborhood. We had heard so many amazing things about the food and it really did show on our big day. Although there were a few mishaps, including a tour during our set up when we needed them, management and the employees tried their best to rectify the issues as soon as possible. Even when my dress had a black mark on it, the manager came in to try and help and it really made a difference. my husband and I have very specific diet restrictions, and they even on the fly were able to make us platters of food just for the two of us. They were able to get rid of all of the decor that we didn’t want (it was Christmas time) and made beautiful suggestions to our room Which included small vases with all the floating candles as in the cubbies behind our head table. They were very accommodating and very helpful. As a wedding planner I am very excited to recommend them again in the future for my clients. -

The venue is beautiful and our day of coordinator was great! The day of coordinator seemed experienced and was very helpful. Our guests enjoyed the food and the setting very much and the night went well as planned. However, I wish the work leading up to the event was better and less stressful.
Overall, the management of the event was very poor with slow response time, poor communication, and lack of flexibility despite the agreement stating that some conditions are negotiable. Even when committed to a deadline, the banquet personnel was always late to provide the information (and out of office a lot, which didn't help). Attention to detail was poor, with errors all over the itinerary, which made us nervous as we were 1) not sure if they didn't understand what we wanted and 2) concerned that the quality of service would translate to the quality of the event. Luckily, the event went smoothly and well. I would highly recommend the venue for events if the events team could improve their coordination, communication, and event management style.GreenTee Country Club Westwood Plateau's reply:
