We had the most wonderful experience hosting our wedding at Fort Henry and truly could not recommend the venue and team more highly.
From the beginning, the entire process was incredibly easy and well organized. Communication was always quick and helpful, we were kept on track throughout the planning process, and whenever we were confused about how something worked or were trying to make a decision, the team was there to clarify things and offer thoughtful suggestions.
Our coordinator, Grace, was amazing. She made us feel so comfortable and was warm, patient, organized, and genuinely lovely to work with. By the end of our wedding day, she honestly felt like part of the family. We could totally relax and enjoy the day knowing everything was being taken care of behind the scenes.
And, of course, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous!!!! -

We were blessed to find this absolute gem of a venue in Kingston, ON. The event planning team at Fort Henry is extremely personable, organized, and flexible. I had multiple people that I knew I could reach out to at any moment during our engagement. Shaughnessy was my main point of contact for most of our engagement and she had an extremely quick response time, never failing to respond to my emails with unfailing promptness, friendliness, and a problem-solving attitude. Grace was my event coordinator for our wedding day and no matter where I turned, she was always close by, watching me and my guests to see if we needed anything. She so kindly supported us during our post-ceremony photos, holding my flowers and fixing my dress and just doing everything she could to make our day that much better. This team is highly flexible and willing to go the extra mile to give couples everything they ask for. Even when I made changes to the plan 3 days before the wedding, they still worked so hard to accommodate my requests. They are SO kind and genuine. Not to mention, the Fort is absolutely gorgeous. Our guests were in awe. I cannot recommend this venue enough. ~June 6, 2026 -

We had our wedding at Fort Henry in April 2026 and couldn't recommend the venue enough. Even for an off season wedding with an indoor ceremony, the space and views were beautiful! We had about 80 guests and the space was more than sufficient and comfortable for everyone. The outdoor patio acces is a huge plus as well! And we're so excited to get more photos back from our pre-ceremony photo shoot on the grounds of the historic fort. Shaughnessy and her team are true professionals and they made us feel completely at ease and taken care of throughout the entire wedding planning process, which we did from a distance by the way. Bytown catering is also very easy to work with and did a fantastic job on the day of, providing excellent service and again making sure that we felt well taken care of as the bride and groom! Everything went sooo smoothly on the day of and our guests had a fantastic time. Look no further for the perfect wedding venue in Kingston! -

The Venus was spectator, we couldn't have asked for better weather, staff is amazing with the venue. Very knowledgable and helpful throughout the whole process. Megan one of the coordinators is phenomenal! The venue has some much to offer in terms of photo selections -

Kingston holds a special place in our hearts, and there was no better venue in the city to celebrate our wedding than the Great Hall at Fort Henry! Alex, Shaughnessy, and the entire Great Hall team were so responsive, welcoming, and helpful from the start and they kept in touch with us every step of the way through our planning process. They helped ensure everything ran smoothly and was perfectly in place, and were available for all our silly questions along the way. The cost of the venue was incredibly reasonable, and they're able to accommodate a variety of budgets. We loved that they have a contracted caterer, Bytown Catering, as it helped reduce some of the workload of needing to find a caterer, and they offer a selection of table linens and dishware for rental which helped reduce the number of vendors we had to work with/juggle. Our wedding day was magical, our photos are beautiful, our memories are priceless, and all of our guests still rave about our wedding a year later! -

My experience using Fort Henry as my wedding venue was nothing but positive. I had an excellent wedding. Alex and Shaughnessy were fantastic to work with and very responsive to emails. On my wedding day, it rained, and the staff were flexible in adjusting plans to incorporate an indoor ceremony. The venue was large enough to accommodate the ceremony indoors without too many issues. Our wedding had about 100 guests for the ceremony and 120 for the reception.
The venue’s washrooms and bridal suite were nice and clean. The venue itself was clean and modern, yet cozy. The windows overlook the water, providing a great view. The patio was well-maintained and polished. Additionally, the staff allowed us to take photos within Fort Henry, which provided some unique wedding photography opportunities. The sunset over Kingston also made for some stunning photos.
Overall, I would highly recommend Fort Henry as a venue. My only concern was with ByTown—the exclusive food vendor for Fort Henry. My advice is to be prepared to negotiate, ask questions, and request clarifications with this vendor. I wasn't afraid to question amounts on my quote, ask how much something cost, and request its removal if I found it too expensive. In the end, ByTown fulfilled all my requests and provided a fantastic catering experience.
