Choose Your Wedding Location (Mild to wild)

For over 20 years, Cabot Shores has hosted weddings for 4-70 people. Here are some locations chosen for past weddings (who knows, when you visit, you may choose your own favourite spot)

Chalet Lawn (mild)

Stand together for the vows while your guests look behind you at Church Pond, hear ocean waves and see the Bird Islands in the distance.

You have an easy walk from the bride/groom chalet or yurt and all the outdoor conveniences at hand.

Along Indian Brook with a Forest Backdrop

Indian Brook goes into Church Pond and the Atlantic. It is fed by three waterfalls, and the eagle's nest is beyond the second.

You face your guests who see you and a clump of forest--mostly spruce, birch and maple. One couple arrived from Indian Brook in a canoe. ..but you can walk or drive to the site.

The Orchard Meadow in front of Church Pond

In summer, the space before the meadow is radiant with wild roses, and during fall, the orchard is full of heritage apples. Your guests see the inlet of the Atlantic and Church Pond. Ducks and geese often swim by while gulls guard the inlet.

The site is a 10-minute walk from the lodge and a 5-minute drive.

Eaglefeather Beach along the Atlantic (can be wild)

You take the bridge to Eaglefeather Beach, where eagles fish from spruce trees and the wind can gust up on occasion. This year, it's about a 2000-foot sandy beach, a location where bagpipers have celebrated with music after the vows were taken.

And then it got windy and rained. Everyone, including the Justice of the Peace, got wet. It all can depend on the weather, but some folks absolutely have the beach as their first choice.

Where is the Reception area, and how many people does it accommodate?

One important feature of our Reception areas is that each can be selected as a backup in terms of inclement weather.

Food for Foodies and Music for Music Lovers

Nothing brightens up a party like good food. And that's what Chef Ron MacNeil serves up, drawing upon our gardens and orchard here for ingredients. Add to that Cape Breton local seafood and other local ingredients, and you are in store for a Wedding Feast.

Some couples choose even to have as an appetizer wood-fired pizza, which is made in our handcrafted outdoor oven.

And then live music, even dancing to cap off the evening.
