About The Steeves House Museum
The Steeves House Museum is a charming mansion located in Hillsborough, New Brunswick. If you are looking for a quaint venue with history and vintage charm then this is the one for you! With a big open space acting as a blank canvas for you to decorate it as you wish, you can let your imagination run wild! You even have the option to bring in your own caterer, florist and DJ.
Facilities and capacity
Available for rent is the Egypt Room, which can accommodate between 2 and 70 guests. It is 33 x 18ft (approx 600 sq.ft.). The room is perfect for you to decorate however you please. The arrangement of tables and chairs is up to you. They have wooden and upholstered metal chairs for you to choose from. They also have long rectangular tables. There is a kitchen which you can access to prepare food. There are two bathrooms off the Egypt room. There is an accessible ramp at the rear (main) entrance to the room.
The staff at Steeves House Museum will be more than happy to help you plan your special day. A range of services are offered. These include: set up, clean up, chairs and tables, tea and coffee, plateware and glassware.
Built in 1812, the original cottage was home to William Henry Steeves, born in 1814. William became a Father of Confederation and then Senator Steeves. The house was later extended in 1840 to the 6000 sq.ft. it is today.
