The Steeves House Museum is a charming mansion located in Hillsborough, New Brunswick. If you are looking for a quaint venue with history and vintage charm then this is the one for you! With a big open space acting as a blank canvas for you to decorate it as you wish, you can let your imagination run wild! You even have the option to bring in your own caterer, florist, decorator, DJ, etc.

Facilities and capacity

Available for rent is the Egypt Room, an all-purpose space with dark brown wood floors and light blue walls. It can accommodate up to 70 guests and is 33 x 18ft (594 sq. ft.). The room is perfect for you to decorate however you please. The arrangement of tables and chairs is also up to you. We have wooden and upholstered metal chairs for you to choose from, as well as long rectangular tables. There is a kitchen for you or your caterer to prepare food, and you are permitted to use our plateware, glassware, and cutlery, if you so choose. There are two bathrooms off the Egypt room for your guests, and an accessible ramp at the rear (main) entrance to the room.

History

Built in 1812, the original cottage was home to William Henry Steeves, born in 1814. William became a Father of Confederation and then Senator Steeves. The house was later extended in 1840 to the 6000 sq. ft. it comprises today.
