The Perfect Place to get Married
We recently got married at Obsidian Ridge and it was the most perfect day. The venue itself is stunning and didn’t feel like it needed much to make it look great. The ceremony space is created in a way that makes your guests really feel apart of the ceremony and the space itself is just stunning. Our time spent in the bridal suite was fantastic. We had AC which was a game changer on a hot day and the vibes were so cozy and fun. The groomsmen also really loved hanging out in the grooms den! Working with Kaylie & the rest of the staff at Obsidian was also so easy and overall a good experience. They were always quick to respond and answer any questions we had. If you’re getting married, this is the place to do it. One thing I also loved was the opportunity to have our dog be our ring bearer, that will be a memory I have for the rest of my life. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful our venue was and how cute Teddy looked running down the aisle. -

We were married at Obsidian on Friday September 6th, 2024.
Layson and his wife have poured their heart and soul into constructing this stunning facility. Their efforts are reflected in every gorgeous detail that resulted in many breathtaking photos. The venue is surrounded by natural elements, vast greenery and trees, as well as numerous water and rock features. In the evening, many of the trees are lit up which adds a whole new level to the scenery and ambience. I highly recommend reserving the overnight accommodations, especially if the venue is a far distance for you to travel - and you also get to enjoy the giant firepit to extend the festivities past last call.
Our Day of Coordinator, Kaylie, is provided by Obsidian and is a literal saint. She busted her ass to ensure everything ran smoothly and efficiently, and offered so many helpful tips and perspectives during the rehearsal and throughout the big day. She was prompt to respond to the million questions I sent over emails. Tegan and her team behind the bar were so much fun, and made sure there was a huge variety of amazing drinks and cocktails for all guests. 1000/10 recommend Obsidian Ridge for your wedding!

Obsidian ridge was the perfect place to have the wedding of our dreams. Kaylie and the team at Obsidian were very professional and friendly. Teagan the bartender was hands down a gem to work with. If you are looking for a place for a one and done wedding, this is the place for you. Everything you need and could ever want is all right here! Thank you all again for playing such a big role in the most important day of our lives. -

There is no arguing how beautiful and breathtaking this venue is, everyone can see that when the drive in. We had an amazing wedding day there. I would recommend this venue IF you are willing to spend the money. Many things are an additional cost so be aware of that. -

This place is absolutely magical, and we mean that in the most sincere way. Truthfully, Obsidian Ridge was above our original budget, but it ended up being so worth it in the end. Not only is it a ceremony and reception venue, but there is camping for all your guests as well as a honeymoon suite for you and your new boo. There’s no need to be driving around the city or worrying about people being on the roads too late, there’s a place for everyone. The owners built the whole space with intention and a deep respect for the land. They really honour spirituality and connectedness, which meant a lot to us considering we have similar values. The next day, we didn’t want to leave!
Any issues or questions we had leading up to the event were dealt with professionally and promptly. The staff we’d met were wonderful and helpful the whole way through. -

Like many others, our wedding plans were challenged by the Covid Pandemic. We at first book our wedding at a beautiful venue Pine and Pond (shout out - check them out instead!), when our wedding was cancelled due to restrictions (May 2020), the venue was fantastic and fully refunded us the deposit, knowing it wasn't anyone's fault. Later on we booked at Obsidian Ridge, where we had to place an even higher deposit. Our second wedding (May 2021) was also cancelled due to restrictions. Both weddings could not have happened, there was no limitations to size but rather a strict no gathering policy for both dates. When we first met with Lyson at Obsidian Ridge (Summer 2020) we were told not to worry about Covid and our deposit, they were "a unique venue who could issue us a transferrable credit". Fast forward to our wedding, that the venue was unable to facilitate due to restrictions, we were very negatively surprised about the venues response to our deposit. At first we were unable to get any sort of refund, then after many emails and proof of what has been said, we were offered a voucher with an admin fee deductions (this was never discussed), after a lot more emails we were issued a full voucher BUT with a ton of limitations. We are having the hardest time trying to transfer the voucher - one of the "limitations" is that that it has to be a new couple (again this was never mentioned when they first took our money, they said that our money could be transferred like a gift card). Overall, I personally have had a VERY negative experience. The venue took advantage of vulnerable couples to build and expand their operations by using deposit money. The venue continued with additions and renovations during the Pandemic which were funded by deposits for weddings which could have never taken place. It took me awhile to write this review (the venue almost threatened against it when it came to us even getting this "voucher") at this point I feel like someone stole $3,000 from me that I am unable to recover and want to share my experience. Although the restrictions have now lifted and I hope no one else has to go through what we did, the basic principles and human values stand. The team at Obsidian Ridge is greedy. -

We absolutely loved this venue. It is gorgeous, and you will not find anything like it anywhere else. The owners are very passionate about their venue and that comes through when you meet them and visit the space. We did have difficulty with timely and clear/concise communication with the vendor which unfortunately made things very stressful for us. We also felt that some aspects were overpriced, but were able to customize our package in some areas to help with budget limits. As a new venue, we definitely felt like we encountered many of their hiccups that come with starting a new business but overall were happy with the outcome. I’d recommend this venue still because it truly is magical and gorgeous, but just be direct in your communications, desires, wants and needs with them. -

We had an amazing tour of this beautiful venue and were blown away at all of the detail and effort put into each aspect of it. From the amazing stone in the amphitheater, the incorporated elements, the groom and bridal suites, to the social fire pit, we fell in love with it right away! The hard work ethic and professionalism was very vivid as well. We are very excited to have our special day here and would recommend it to anyone! -

Layson is great to work with. Very easy and quick communication. Very accommodating. Provided a perfect tour that really gave us a vision for our wedding. I love how much pride they have in the venue and the story that goes along with it.
The venue is gorgeous and has more than what we've dreamed of. Words can't express our excitement!
