10 Sep, 2016The story of our wedding
Our wedding was 11 years in the making. I always imagined a small, intimate wedding. But my (now) husband's family is Lebanese, and there is no such thing as a small wedding. It couldn't have turned out more perfect. The day went off without a hitch and we had such a great time.
We were married at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in a traditional orthodox ceremony. We had two priests, one a cousin of my husband, so that it could be done in both arabic and english. The church is beautiful and my elderly grandma was able to be present for the ceremony.
The reception was down the road at St. Joseph's Banquet Hall. A newer banquet hall with a gorgeous window wall. I knew because of the size of our wedding, we'd end up in a banquet hall, but I didn't want the typical banquet hall box-y feel. This venue nailed it. Amazing food, beautiful decor and the staff was wonderful. We had some drums/music help accomany us for our big entrance and the dancing did not stop all evening. It really was the most perfect day.
