Jennifer is wonderful!
Jennifer was an IMPERATIVE help to us and integral to making not only the wedding day but also the weeks leading up to the wedding run smoothly. She came on board around 1 month before the wedding and was professional, incredibly sweet, timely with her email responses, and very efficient. She has obviously done this many times and knows the industry well. Can't recommend her enough, we couldn't have done it without her!

They made our night exceed our expectations
We were referred to Umbrella Events by an Icon in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and are so happy for the referral. One of us is in logistics so were already organized and had a Gantt chart started lol, but we were looking to hand over the entire décor piece to a planner. Our planner Ariel was amazing, and although we thought we had our bases covered, she was able to add important insight to make sure our i’s were dotted and our t’s were crossed and that we kept on schedule. Umbrella Events provided a list of preferred 2SLGBTQIA+ vendors and we ended up using a few which worked out brilliantly. When it came to her main role, which was looking after décor, she hit it out of the park. We gave her our vision and when we walked into the venue on the day of the wedding, she had executed it flawlessly. Additionally, she was on top of everything that night, coordinating with the catering manager at the venue, controlling the bar and the crowd during key moments, directing our entertainment, and everything was on point. The night exceeded our expectations thanks to Ariel and Umbrella Events We highly recommend them for anyone who wants some piece of mind on their special day, and a stellar event.

Organized and delightful wedding planner
How do I even start to write a review for Cristie at Umbrella Events? There are hardly words to describe what a delight she is to work with and how she made our wedding planning stress-free and fun.
My husband and I are from NYC, but had a destination wedding at Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, BC. Not knowing much about the area, we knew we needed a local planner. Umbrella Events was listed as a preferred vendor for the venue, and from our first conversation with Cristie we felt confident about planning a wedding on the other side of the continent.
Cristie was responsive, timely, organized, and thoughtful during every step of the process. She was generous with her time, had amazing input on decor, introduced us to great vendors, and made sure every single detail was perfect on the day.
My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Cristie. We loved that she was part of our wedding!

Can't say enough good things!
My wife & I worked with Jen at Umbrella Events for month-of coordination, and she and her team were an absolute joy to work with. From our first meeting, we felt her genuine excitement about our event, and were so impressed by her knowledge about all the details we might have otherwise forgotten. She was very efficient, reliable, and committed to realizing our vision; she was always checking in with us, which allowed us to feel at the centre of the process (making sure that we didn't get lost in the details). When last-minute hiccups came up, Jen was very calm under pressure and helped us find an even better solution! We feel so lucky to have been recommended Umbrella Events - it wouldn't have been the same without them. Thank you Cristie, Jen, and Blair for helping our wedding day be such a magical queer forest success!

Highly recommend!!!
We needed a wedding coordinator for our reception and are SO glad we went with Umbrella Events! Stephanie made everything run smoothly from start to finish and was absolutely brilliant. We really feel like the reception planned itself, but it was all Stephanie! She was also really fun to be around and a genuinely great person. Would highly recommend to anyone. A great wedding planner, who works well with remote couples!
We hired Cristie of Umbrella Events to do month-of-coordination, and also hired her to advise and procure floral-decor related items, since by the time we engaged her we had already secured the venue and photo/video. We lived three time zones away from where our wedding was (Vancouver), so we needed someone who could provide some vetted floral/decor vendors and could do a great job managing vendors on the month/day-of. Cristie was a joy to work with, very responsive, and did an especially amazing job on the day of! It put our mind at ease knowing she had things under control. A true professional! My Best Friend!
Cristie was and is AMAZING and so kind. I felt no worries the day of my wedding because she had it handled. We had our share of "oops" moments but we all played it cool. One person said, "I didn't even see you wedding planner". And I replied that it's because she's a ninja. She makes everything look effortless and seamless which is the most impressive part about her. I hope I made a lifelong friend =) Love her!

A Flawless Day
Our day would not have been the same without Cristie and her assistant Ariel. We chose Umbrella Events' Month Of coordination package because we wanted a stress-free wedding day. After our first meeting with Cristie we were confident we were going to have the perfect day we had been dreaming of. Cristie is detail oriented and has amazing ideas and recommendations. She is very organized and her experience in the industry is quite evident through her work. On the day of our wedding everything was smooth and flawless. Cristie kept in touch with all of our vendors both before and on the big day. Her services played a key role in us having the wedding of our dreams. Thank you Cristie and Ariel!

Just what we needed!
Cristie from Umbrella Events was amazing! We did the "month of" coordination and it was just what we needed. We had already booked the vendors ourselves, but it was great to get help with creating a timeline and remembering all the little details from a professional! Cristie was very easy going and had great recommendations for vendors and cute ideas for decor. The day of coordination was amazing, everything ran smoothly and the set-up of the venue looked amazing!

Umbrella = phenomenal!
I honestly don't know what I would have done without Cristie - she was an absolute lifesaver!! I am based in Victoria but held the wedding in Vancouver, and Cristie helped me put together absolutely everything from afar. She has incredible contacts and made everything so smooth and simple for me - even when I was having a wedding meltdown, or changed my mind 500 times about things! For the wedding day, she had everyone and everything set up on a strict timeline and her communication with myself and the vendors ensured everything stayed right on track. I was a total nervous wreck but she kept me (and my mother!!) calm and positive all day and throughout the evening celebrations. The venue looked absolutely stunning with the decor she arranged and set up, and I so appreciate the effort she went to in trying to find items in my very-specific colour scheme! From day one I felt that everything was under control and I knew my big day was in good hands! Not only is Cristie super organised, professional, and experienced with large events, she is an amazing, bubbly person who will become a true friend throughout the process. I cannot recommend her and her team enough! Thank you Umbrella Events for EVERYTHING - you are amazing!!
