Jennifer Xu is a fine-art international photographer based in Toronto, Ontario. She specializes in wedding photography to capture intimate weddings to large celebrations. Her style of work is best described as bright, airy, natural, and editorial-inspired. She will create a timeless and beautiful wedding collection just for you!

Experience

Jennifer has photographed over 50 weddings in Toronto, the GTA, as well as internationally in Jamaica. She completed a business degree at the Schulich School of Business and found later found her passion in full time wedding photography. She offers wedding and engagement photography that has been published in Style Me Pretty, BRIDES, and Wedding Bells.

Services offered

Jennifer works closely with couples and offers shot lists consultation and site visits before the wedding. During the wedding day, she works with other professional photographers to deliver wedding packages with two photographers. After the wedding, she delivers photos within three weeks online, USB, and with prints.

Wedding packages include the following services:

  • Online delivery: Private online gallery for sharing

How she works

Jennifer uses a Canon camera. Her favourite lenses are prime lenses without a zoom feature. Edited images are shipped within three weeks of your wedding day.

Other services

The studio also conducts destination wedding, family, maternity, and baby photography. Professional headshots are also offered. The business offers a separate engagement package as well. This package includes:

My fiancé hired Jen to photograph his proposal to me in July 2016. Jen was very diligent in preparing for the shoot by visiting the different locations with my fiancé. She provided ideas and tips to help make the proposal seamless. She captured a nice balance of candid and posed shots. Her photos were warm and natural. She is very friendly and laidback and easy to talk to and work with. She delivered a preview of the proposal photos on her website within two weeks followed by a package of a printed set of photos in a nice wooden box with a copy of the photos on an engraved wood USB key which was a beautiful touch. She was very responsive, timely and accommodating in all the requests. We are grateful to have had her there to capture such a special moment! We would recommend her to anyone!

Jennifer Xu Photography was recommended by our wedding planner from a list of potential photographers, and we chose Jen due to her light and airy style of photos. We were not disappointed, Jen is awesome. Throughout the entire process she communicated with us and really takes the time to get to know you as a couple and what you are looking for. We planned our wedding from another province and she still kept in touch with us via email, Skype, snail mail and phone calls. She is very thorough and we appreciated her attention to detail. From planning her shot list, ensuring she includes detail shots and requested family shots to visiting the site beforehand to plan spots for photos. Her calm presence is also appreciated on a very busy wedding day! She is extremely professional and delivered a beautiful mix of candid and traditional wedding photos which we continue to look at regularly to relive our day.

From beginning to end, Jennifer made our engagement photo shoot and wedding day photography a breeze and was truly pleasant to interact with. She is very knowledgeable and is quick to come up with great alternatives if the original shot is not possible. Her planning and organization skills are exceptional and we knew we could rely on her for the big day! Jennifer and her assistant truly captured the fun and emotional moments of our wedding day.

Upon receiving our wedding photo package, we were very impressed with the beautiful photography and the different perspectives that we didn't get to see ourselves due to the hectic nature of the day. I am very happy to recommend Jennifer to anyone who is looking for an outstanding photographer to capture any occasion.

Highly recommended!

Jennifer is kind, thorough, professional, and put us at ease. She gave us our pictures three days (!!) after our wedding and gave us more prints that contracted. She listened to what we wanted and worked with us to maximize coverage within our budget. I cannot recommend her enough!

Great service!

We had a mini engagement shoot session with Jennifer. It's a great alternative to a full engagement shoot if you're looking to save some cost and time. Jennifer arrived early to the shoot, and was in frequent touch prior to the shoot to update us on weather conditions. She was very organized and had a list of poses to go through for the shoot. Jennifer also offered a very quick turnaround time in providing us the edited version of the pictures. We were extremely happy with the service she provided.

Top Quality Photographs

My husband and I live in England, but had our wedding in Toronto. As you might imagine this can make planning very difficult, but Jennifer was amazing in this department. Not only did she make great recommendations for where to take our wedding photos, but she also recommended makeup artists and pointed us to some great wedding venues, one of which is where we had our wedding dinner. On our wedding day we had torrential rain. We thought that there would be no way to get outdoor pictures with the cityscape (something we had hope to do), but Jennifer was prepared with beautiful umbrellas and some how managed to get us beautiful pictures with the Toronto skyline in the background. She was great with our guests (including my three year old niece), very well organised and she made my husband and I feel completely at ease. Our families were floored by the quality of the photos, as they were just so beautifully taken and reflected the theme and style of our wedding. We can't thank Jennifer enough for capturing all our happy moments on our big day.

Jennifer is a fantastic photographer. She is organized, patient, friendly, and extremely dedicated to her job. During the planning process, Jennifer was so helpful. She provided her expertise and gave us pointers to make the scheduling more realistic and efficient. Her organization really shined through, it almost felt like we had a wedding planner in addition to a photographer. On the day on the wedding, Jen was there to capture every important moment. It felt very natural to have Jen there; it never felt like she was in the way or disrupting the flow of the wedding. We also loved the use of natural light and how the photos turned out bright, natural, and soft. On the day of the wedding, you really want someone there who is professional yet pleasant to be around and Jennifer is that person. We cannot recommend Jennifer enough, she goes above and beyond and is amazing at what she does.

We first met Jen at another friend's wedding in Jamaica but at the time didn't think too much about it ourselves. When we started our own search for a photographer, we actually found it very difficult to find a photographer that fit our aesthetic. That was when we saw Jen's photos of our friend's wedding and we loved the way that she captured their unique relationship and thought that she'd be the perfect person for us.

During our first meetup, Jen gave us all the details of how our day can unfold and gave us some great recommendations on how the schedule can work. She was very responsive to all of our questions and was very patient with us as we went through multiple pricing options (I think we went through 6 different options in the end, with different amounts of photos given, # of photographers, working hours, etc etc). Her billing process was also seamless, easy invoicing and payments all done online with a few clicks.

On our wedding day, Jen and her partner Luis were a treat to have. We had a big wedding of almost 300 people so herding all of us around was not an easy task but she managed to do it with both professionalism and poise. She also stayed later than what we initially discussed cause our schedule ran long but didn't have a single complaint about it at all. She took some amazing candid shots of our entire wedding and we absolutely adored those; they really captured the spirit and atmosphere of our wedding.

I think the most impressive thing about Jen's service was the speed of which she gave us our pictures. Within 11 days of our wedding, we already had a private gallery in which to preview some of our photos and within 3 weeks, we already received our full almost 1,000 photos in the mail. Absolutely amazing turnaround and with a quality that blew us away.

Having Jennifer photograph our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! We're not sure which aspect we were most impressed by: her professionalism in visiting our locations beforehand, her thorough scheduling and pre-planning, her way of getting the most out of everybody during the actual shoots, or her impeccable presentation and quality of the final delivery.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Jen. She is very personable, kind and professional. My partner and I were nervous about our shoot and she quickly made us comfortable in front of the camera. We were very impressed how detailed oriented she is. Prior to our shoot, she had done a walkthrough of our locations and planned out our shoots. Our photos were phenomenal. She perfectly captured our day. I still can't stop browsing through them. Thank you so much Jen. I highly recommend her!
