David is a multiple award-winning wedding, commercial, and newspaper photographer who manages David Buzzard Photography out of Whistler, British Columbia. Known for his candid approach, David brings his extensive experience in photojournalism to document your special day. He is also proficient in portraiture and contemporary styles.

Experience

David has over 20 year of experience in wedding photography and is one of Whistler's top wedding photographers. David was named a Bride’s Choice Wedding Photographer in 2012 by WeddingWire.

David began as a newspaper photographer while he was still in high school. In 1994, he moved to South Africa, where he got the opportunity to cover the end of apartheid. He has worked for a myriad of newspaper publications, including the Durban Daily News, the Sunday Times, and the Weekly Mail and Guardian newspapers, as well as the Whistler Question, Pique NewsMagazine, and the Squamish Chief. David has won eight press awards, including two first place gold medals from the Canadian Community Newspaper Association in 2015. Photographs by David have also been featured in Michael Schmidt’s acclaimed book Drinking With Ghosts: The Aftermath of Apartheid’s Dirty War. In addition, one of his images was chosen for the Professional Photographers of Canada travelling exhibition.
