We had a terrible experience weeks before our wedding with this officiant. It caused me a ton of un-needed stress and anxiety. I felt like I was being told how my wedding was going to run, and to make matters worse, she read my vows, while mocking them (she didn’t approve of them) in front of my fiancé. Extremely unprofessional, and uncaring of the way she makes others feel. She of course, didn’t even acknowledge what she had done, and rather blamed me. We let her go and re hired 2 weeks before our wedding. She also kept our deposit. I’d keep looking elsewhere. Provided the email, of more details of the things that went wrong.

My husband and I hired Soleiha for our recent wedding this past July. When we started working with her we had high hopes that she was exactly what we were looking for, this turned out not to be true.
We only ever had 1 zoom call to go over the testimonial and things seemed good. when it came to our busy wedding day, She had traced down my husband who was getting ready to go into the building and demanded he pay her in cash, or she wouldn't do the wedding even though we sent the deposit through e transfer which we though was VERY strange and then we were so embarrassed to hear her say INFRONT OF OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS things about our past relationships before finding each other that were confidential and not at all agreed upon she could say as well as our repeated scriptures were changed by her at the last minute.

Soleiha is by far the best officiant we found. She is easy-going, thoughtful and above all, she is a romantic. She truly believes in love and the celebration of marriage. Despite the fact we had to elope due to the pandemic, she made everything incredibly easy for us and made us feel like family. We love Soleiha and feel absolutely lucky we found her.

Soleiha married me in 2018. She RUINED our wedding. We signed a contract and paid our deposit. We kept in contact. Then she showed up 2 HOURS LATE for our wedding. No phone calls, no communication. Called my husband and asked where everyone 1.5 hours late, ahe had gone to the wrong location 30 minutes away. When she finally rolled into the venue, she told us she had been at another booking in Cochrane (1 hour away, 1.5 max) and got a flat tire. A few friends inspected her car, no flat, no damage, no donut. She came staright to my mom and demanded her final payment. Then used the bathroom and complained we had run out of toilet paper after allowing 200 guests to use our home during the 2 hour wait on a 30 degree day. She then messed up the procession of the bridal party, called my husband by the wrong name and handed us paperwork from someone else's wedding. Her dress was see-through and our photographer had to edit her underwear/bra in EVERY PICTURE. After everything was signed and done, she then approached my sister a aecond time for payment to which she was told we would be continuing to celebrate and she would get her payment when the weekend was complete. Sunday, I recieved an email that she would be withholding our marriage certificate until payment was complete. We argued for 3 days about her breach of contract. We paid a $250 deposit and technically still owed $250. After explaining to her we would pay, but in turn she would be invoiced for the food, drinks, extra time for the band and the fine from our venue/caterer for being late amongst other things needed to host 200 people for an additional 2 hours. In the end, we settled with her without further payment. She was then reported to the governing board for marriage commissioners in Alberta.
