  Disappointing experience unfortunately

  We spoke with Patrick via zoom a few days before and laid out that we didn't want an unplugged ceremony. We requested that he asked people to stay out of the way of the photographer. Unfortunately Patrick told the guests that they couldn't take photos at all, so we missed out on a lot of photos of our ceremony from guests.
  I also asked if it would be okay if I (bride) were fashionably late up to 20 mins on the day and he said this was fine as he had another wedding later but has flexibility for up to 20 mins. I (the bride) was really disappointed to hear that Patrick was impatient and put pressure on my partner to know where I was from 5 minutes before the ceremony was to start and 5 mins after it was due to start as he had to get to another wedding to go to right after. He also asked my partner if he could speak faster. We had a very short and simple ceremony to start with, but it was pretty speedy and a little rushed about 15 mins. Patrick spoke great and did everything else fine but for the price we paid our expectations were not met. The reason we went with an professional was so they would put us at ease and be in control of everything for us. There was no rehearsal just a zoom call and some rehearsal paperwork for us to go through by ourselves before the ceremony.

  Experienced, Thoughtful and Polished!

  Patrick was a pleasure to work with, and both sides of our family enjoyed our nondenominational ceremony very much, which is really saying something as most are not agnostic. Don't hesitate, just book! Cheers, Kara & Paul

  Amazing officiant!

  Patrick did a great job officiating our wedding! We received many compliments after the wedding about him. He was engaging, funny, and made us feel at ease. He incorporated many personal touches which we greatly appreciated. We felt like the ceremony was very personal for us and we are so glad we chose Patrick Smiley to be our officiant! I was nervous about the ceremony but he made us feel comfortable and at ease. Thank you so much Patrick!

  Made our special day that much special!

  Patrick was an amazing commissioner for our intimate wedding at lake minnewanka. His readings, style, and professionalism was appreciated by my husband and I and my family loved him as well. He has a very warm and inviting energy that truly added to our ceremony. Would recommend Patrick to anyone!

  Exceptional - fun and heartfelt Officiant

  Patrick was such an amazing asset to our ceremony and wedding day as a whole. He made me and the crowd laugh, several times through the ceremony - which helped settle my nerves and lighten the mood. I sought out Patrick because I was looking for someone fun, carefree and self-sufficient; Patrick was exactly this. His love story questions created a perfect story to tell our guests and acted as our personalized vows as my now husband did not want to speak in front of the crowd. He arrived to the venue early and coordinated with the DJ and venue coordinator to arrange the sound system and get the lay of the land. I am SO grateful for all of his hard work and dedication and would HIGHLY recommend his services on your day ⭐️. Thanks again Patrick, you’re invited to party with us anytime!

  Great Comissioner for Mountain Wedding!

  We hired Patrick less than two months before our wedding due to a venue change and Patrick was incredibly communicative and easy to work with. He was not available for the rehearsal, but provided a great guide that walked us through everything. Our wedding ceremony was short, sweet and beautiful. Patrick's ceremony is so great and he does offer many opportunities for customization (such as writing your own vows). We had compliments from so many of our guests on the ceremony! We would recommend Patrick to every couple!

  Our Perfect Ceremony

  We couldn't have asked for a better Marriage Commissioner. Patrick created a ceremony that was unique to us. He made us feel comfortable every step along the way, from our first meeting to the altar. He even suffered through the cold and rain so we could have our perfect outdoor mountain ceremony! We are incredibly grateful to have worked with Patrick. If you are still looking for a Marriage Commissioner, look no further because Patrick is your guy!

  We contacted Patrick to be our marriage commissioner very last minute and he was quick to reply. The ceremony he prepared was perfectly heartfelt. We wrote our own vows and it was the best ceremony I could have asked for. Patrick even helped us fix the issues we has with registry office. He was also very punctual and arrived at our ceremony location on time. We would 100% recommend hiring him.
