Jeanette created a beautiful and personalized ceremony for our wedding day. From the beginning, she was so kind and warm, and we could tell that she really wanted to get to know us in order to create the best ceremony possible for our day. She listened to all of our requests and our stories and it was so evident on the day of. We had so many compliments on how lovely that she was, and how perfectly she told our story. Thank you Jeanette!Sent on 12/09/2019

Not flexible, Terrible communicator, bride went through a mental breakdown
We had originally had our ceremony laid out with a different officiant until they were not able to perform the ceremony as her family and her were moving up north, so she had suggested Jeanette and her replacement. We first met Jeanette back in September during the year of covid-19. She seemed really nice and I'm sure can perform a great ceremony, but it was all the in between that we had trouble with.Sent on 22/01/2021
Since we had all the vows and everything planned out with our previous officiant in a way that we loved, we sent them to Jeanette as they were and she refused to do them saying that they weren't suitable (we still don't understand why as they were given by the previous officiant).
This all was happening at the end of 2020 (with the wedding scheduled for January), so covid-19 was in full swing and was introducing more gathering restrictions in Ontario, we were working very closely with our venue and everyone involved to make sure that we were still able to at least have the wedding and still follow all the regulations. Being that our main form of communication with Jeanette was via emails and text messaging, there were times where she wouldn't reply to us for days, and with all the stress of planning on wedding during a pandemic, this was just added on to all that. When the christmas province wide lockdown was announced on December 21st, we got in touch with our venue to see what we could do with the current rules applied to them, and we were very limited though it was still possible to just perform the ceremony with a very fixed amount of people. We forwarded this information to everyone involved in the wedding and made sure that they were still comfortable with doing the ceremony, including Jeanette and she said that she was ok with it, showing no concern or asking for more information or mentioning anything about collecting more information.
Fast forward to a week before the wedding. The day after we send the full payment to Jeanette, she sends us a text message with concerns about some of the municipal laws in place that could be different than the provincial laws and the vibe we got from the text messages was that she was no longer comfortable with doing the ceremony and we wanted to get more clarification from her right away since this was a week prior to the wedding. We texted and called her several times and she would not respond or pick up the phone. The bride was on the ground in tears and hyperventilating when we got a text message saying that Jeanette was in a meeting and unable to reply. Though at this point, our relationship with her was destroyed and there was no way we could walk down the isle towards her with a clear conscious. We let her go that day and managed to find an officiant that was willing to plan and do a covid safe wedding ceremony within a week, she even took the vows that we originally put together with the first officiant without any problem or concern.
It is now a week after the ceremony that went off without a hitch except for a "report" to the city about our wedding that caused them to send a bylaw officer to the wedding to make sure everything was in line. We have since contacted Jeanette to try to get a refund (understanding that we would probably lose the deposit) and has replied to us with the following email
"Hello Nathan. After much thought with the events happening up to you firing me, I will not be issuing a refund. I spent a lot of time on your ceremony, meeting, emails, phone calls. It was your decision to fire me when I simply questioned the Covid protocols at the venue and was going by the Ontario government regulations in relation to your day I wanted to make sure it was all ok"
So even though she didn't provide us with a script for the ceremony, new vows or a ceremony for that matter, we are currently out the entire amount that we gave her.
So if you're looking for an officiant that will respond back to your emails in a timely fashion, puts your ceremony together before the last week, doesn't push back on some personal changes you want and doesn't do everything last minute, maybe go with someone else.

You can't find a better officiant than Rev. Jeanette.
Rev. Jeanette was absolutely wonderful. She kept us informed of everything she did and she did exactly what was needed. I really appreciated her commitment to celebrating our wedding in a covid-safe manner. Her integrity is beyond question, and she does a fantastic job. Thank you, Rev. Jeanette!Sent on 15/02/2021
