I am sad to say the ceremony was the only thing that went wrong with our wedding.
When we booked it was originally booked January 2023 and scheduled 3:30pm for September 2023 with some room for flexibility (as we all know timeline can vary closer to the date). We were told because it was late in the afternoon that we would be the only wedding scheduled because it was such an awkward time. 3 months before the wedding I emailed to confirm that the time will be 4:00pm instead of 3:30pm. Turns out he had booked a different wedding for 4:30pm. He promised me we would switch it to 4:00pm and that there would be back up officiants and that everything would be taken care of.
During ceremony he started with a prayer and quickly proceeded to tell our guests he had a different wedding to attend (very unprofessional) So he turned his car engine, which was parked very close to ceremony, and rudely interrupted the whole thing as he drove off.
His back up officiant mispronounced my name differently 3 times throughout the ceremony. I would think that if you’re going to make this work with a substitute that you would provide them with the correct name pronunciation. It was absolutely brutal. Our guests still talk about it till this day.
His wife the other officiant had no idea where we were to sign our names on the marriage license and was figuring it out on the spot.
Lastly, the wrong date was written on our marriage license.
Overall, terrible experience and it is sad because this is supposed to be the only part of the special day that is truly meant for the couple.Soul Mates Wedding Officiant's reply:
As you correctly stated Ediola,
I did not officiate your wedding. A substitute officiant did so as a last resort because you changed the start time. Yes it was a junior minister and mis-pronouncements happen even to the best of us. You may also recall I paid the substitute minister out of my own pocket because I could not do your wedding with the time change. In hindsight I should have given you back your deposit and asked you to find an alternative licensed officiant when you bumped up the start time, however, I was trying to help you. What I did do was introduce the junior minister to the congregation and while doing so did an opening prayer wishing the two of you all the best. I continue to wish the two of you all the best. I am also sorry about my hasty engine noise departure. Was not intentional.

Pastor Robert was so present, genuine, and captivation. We had several guest tell us how they actually listened to the service, and it was the best ceremony they had been to. He gave us the idea to incorporate a sand ceremony (blended family) and it was a powerful and meaningful moment that I will always remember. Wedding Ceremony Review
I hired Robert several months back for a small intimate ceremony in September 2023. It was absolutely perfect. I could’ve asked for anything better.
Robert was extremely professional, on point, so kind and generous to offer his property along with his fancy vehicles so we could take pictures. We used his entire property for professional photography, and had a ceremony there as well.
Robert listened to exactly what we requested. We were nervous about doing our own vows, so Robert created ours and said the most beautiful words!! It was truly amazing.
We felt very comfortable with Robert. I would 100% recommend him to be your wedding officiant. We will never forget our wedding day.
