Barbara is a seasoned wedding officiant who has been uniting couples in love since 2007. As the former creator and owner of a popular wedding venue, she brings a wealth of experience and a calm, personal touch to every ceremony. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Barbara specializes in intimate weddings for 4 to 40 guests, offering heartfelt ceremonies that reflect each couple's unique story.

Ceremony packages include:

  • Legal Signing (couple + 4 witnesses) – $225

  • Elopement Ceremony (couple + 10) – $350

  • Micro Wedding (or “minimony” – up to 40 guests) – $400

Barbara is also available for couples who wish to have a friend or family member lead their symbolic ceremony but need a licensed officiant to complete the legal requirements of marriage.

As an ordained wedding minister licensed by the province of Ontario, Barbara offers both personalized and traditional ceremonies for couples who are not connected to a church, or who prefer an alternative to a City Hall wedding. Whether you're planning a simple signing or a beautifully intimate celebration, Barbara will help you create a ceremony that's meaningful, warm, and memorable.

Book Barb!

Barb is THE wedding officiant. Barb officiated our wedding on May 18th, 2025 and we had approximately 20-25 people attend. We loved how easy it was to work with Barb. She was always quick to reply to our emails/any questions that we might have. Barb really goes above and beyond to make sure that your ceremony is suited to you as a couple/your unique journey. We felt like Barb really took the time to get to know us and it really reflected on our BIG day. If you're on the fence, book Barb! Our day wouldn't have been the same without her.

Highly Recommended!

BeWedByBard is a 100000/10! Immediately after speaking with her on the phone, we knew she was the one we wanted as our officiant. She responds quickly to our questions, which is incredibly helpful and greatly reduced our stress since we get the answers right away. We highly recommend her! She beautifully incorporated everything we asked for, including Filipino traditions, into our ceremony. She was also thoughtful enough to move during the ceremony so our photographer could capture the best shots. Truly an incredible and professional officiant. Highly, highly recommend!

Exactly what we wanted

We chose Barb for a number of reasons. First and foremost, her advertisement was inclusive and specialized in small weddings. Secondly, she was extremely prompt in getting back to us. We wanted a very simple and small ceremony to be held in our home that was not expensive. This is exactly what we got. Lastly, Barb allowed us to have a ceremony that we wanted without all the traditional vows but still keeping it within the law. We recommend her wholeheartedly.

Amazing Officiant!

Barb was absolutely lovely to work with and helped us every step of the way. She always got back to us quickly, was incredibly professional, and very mindful of our budget and needs. Her attitude was warm, open, and supportive - it never felt transactional, but personal and intimate. Even though we hadn’t met before, it truly felt like we had. Amazing value for the care and service she provides.

Perfect for any type of wedding!

Barb is amazing and we can not recommend her enough. She is very accommodating and easily adjusted to suit our preferences for the event. She was super responsive and easy to communicate with. We had an intimate ceremony at our home and she was a lovely, warm and personable addition to the event and handled / prepared us for every detail which was a great comfort to us!

A Perfect, Personalized Elopement Thanks to Barb!

Barb did an amazing job in creating a beautiful and intimate elopement for us! She was professional, very flexible with the date and location and allowed us to create our own vision for the moment! I would highly recommend her for your small wedding or elopement!

Affordable and extremely professionnel

My wedding was planned very quick and in a short time for professional reasons (visa application for expatriation). Barb was responsive and available in this short period. We took a moment to prepare few days before and she asked about what we wanted.
The D-Day, she detected a small mistake on the name of my wife and advised to delay the celebration to correct it at the City Hall. Couple hours later she accepted to celebrate our wedding in her beautiful garden with our witnesses.

Thank you and I recommend her more than hundred percent.

And to finished, admin papers have been sent the day after with confirmation in my e-mail box.

You can trust in her professionalism. You won't be disappointed.

Highly Recommend
