About
Jeremy Citron is a wedding officiant based in Toronto, Canada, who performs wedding ceremonies under the company name All you need is love ~ weddings. As a licensed officiant, he serves Toronto, York Region, Peel, Halton, Hamilton, and Niagara. Jeremy was ordained by the Union of Welsh Independent Churches sometime in the last century!
Services offered
Having studied comparative religions and theology, Jeremy offers options from several religious traditions, including Jewish traditions like the "blessing over the wine" and the "breaking the glass” (not the same glass!) and the “sapta padi” from the Hindu faith; the "cord and veil" from the Philippines and the "sofreh" from the Persian tradition. Although he has lived in Canada for almost 30 years, Jeremy still retains his English accent but he is able to offer a few lines of welcome and some other elements in a number of different languages (and accents) including Afrikaans, Hrvatski, Français, Deutsch, Español, Italiano, Svenska, and, of course, Cymraeg (Welsh).
Aside from any cultural requirements, a typical ceremony might look like this:
- Processional
- Words of welcome
- Introduction
- Question of impediment
- Address to the gathering
- Readings
- Presentation of the bride (or groom)
- Blessing of family and friends
- Exchange of vows and rings
- Declaration of marriage
- The kiss
- Signing of the register
- Presentation of the couple
- Recessional
