  Got married on a hill during a pandemic!

  Donald was amazing! Played the songs we wanted better than I could have imagined. We had the best day and the music really made it feel like a wedding! He was super easy to work with, even with all the restrictions and complications of getting married during a pandemic. Would totally recommend Donald to anyone and everyone! He was the best! :D

  Couldn’t ask for a better musician!

  I was so lucky to have Donald play at our wedding!
  It was a last minute arrangement and I was sure I wouldn’t find anyone with such short notice, especially after I’ve contacted 4-5 other musicians that couldn’t make it that day or for whom it would be too far of a drive from Halifax.
  Donald responded with a friendly « I’ll make it work »! He was so easy and pleasant to communicate with, gave me different options for repertoire and accommodated all my requests. I was also surprised that he knew multiple Russian songs, which he beautifully played to acknowledge my background and my side of the family. He plays numerous genres from folk to classical to jazz and swing, his arrangements are very tasteful and appropriate for the occasion! We had our ceremony at an old Nova Scotian church, and Donald’s talented playing really completed the style of our ceremony and gave it a very special, sincere and intimate feel!
  Donald is not only a very professional and talented violinist and singer, but also a wonderful person who will make your experience so easy and nice!

  The perfect addition to our day!

  Donald is an exceptional musician and an engaging performer. He provided beautiful accompaniment for our wedding service, and more upbeat music for our cocktail hour. There's something special about having live music at a wedding, and we could not have chosen better than Donald. Thank you for helping to make it such an unforgettable day!

  Donald MacLennan is such an incredible musician! He did a superb job of setting a vibe and adding to our special day. He's got a superb singing voice. Between gypsy-jazz and manouche and a few contemporary classics, he satisfied us and all of our guests.

  We were married in the summer of 2014 in a casual, outdoor ceremony on Blackett's Lake in Cape Breton. We were fortunate to have Donald play violin as our guests arrived, as we walked down the "aisle", and during cocktails as guests socialized before dinner. I had seen Donald play numerous times in various bands over the years, and was thrilled when he was available to play our wedding. We had no specific musical requests, and knowing Donald's fluid style allowed me be to be super comfortable letting him just go with it, and playing whatever he felt worked in the moment. He is superb at reading a crowd, and filled the afternoon and evening with upbeat, lively tunes, that were a step beyond your regular traditional Cape Breton fiddle jigs and reels. Donald provided a truly unique soundtrack to our day. My only regret was that he was in high demand that night and couldn't stay into the wee hours!
