I was lucky to have someone refer me to use One Fine Beauty for my wedding day. I was planning with a short timeline and Shannon was able to accommodate my wedding date. I was nervous about working with a make-up artist as I have chronic dry skin (that felt like it got worse with the stress of the pandemic) and I didn't think anyone could make me look flawless. I had such a wonderful experience with Shannon! She did 10 of us on the morning of my wedding, and everyone looked stunning, fresh-faced and radiant! And the looks really lasted all evening. She is such a wonderful, kind-hearted person which helped to put everyone at ease on what could have been a stressful morning. I came to Shannon after having had a trial from another makeup artist that I was unsatisfied with, so I was somewhat nervous to see if I would get what I was hoping for the second time around. Shannon was the consummate professional all through the process. She took the time to really listen and make sure she knew what I liked and didn't like about my first trial. She then agreed to make tweaks on the day of my wedding based on my feedback. The morning of the wedding, Shannon and her colleague were a calming presence that provided a soothing start to the day, even though they had 8 faces to beautify. I was so pleased with the job they did on me, my mom and my 6 bridesmaids. I felt so beautiful all day and didn't even have to think about my makeup once. The first makeup artist I had wanted to hire had informed me that the makeup would run if I cried too much. Who doesn't cry on their wedding day?? Shannon's products, on the other hand, were all waterproof, even her under-eye concealer, so I didn't even have to think twice about crying. My mom and all of my bridesmaids felt equally beautiful, and my maid of honour in particular, who never wears makeup and has had bad experiences with other makeup artists making her look "clownish", said she felt that the makeup was perfect – that it enhanced her features and yet looked very natural. Shannon and her colleague took the extra time to get everything just right for each one of us – including staying behind until we brushed our teeth to apply our lip colour. I highly recommend One Fine Beauty to anyone in the Ottawa area looking for a makeup artist for their special day.

I have had my makeup done professionally for various functions throughout the years but always needed to make changes myself afterwards .... after having my makeup done by Shannon and seeing what it actually could look like, I will never have it done professionally by anyone else again - the results were exactly what I had wanted and zero adjustments had to be made. I was thrilled!
I was looking for a bold smokey eye but didn't want to look too 'artificial' for my wedding day or not recognize myself in photos later on while still looking 'glamorous'. The end result was absolutely amazing and I have no idea how...but I completely looked myself just....WAY BETTER... an enhanced version. I didn't have to change or touch up a thing. She knew what I was looking for better than I did. I also love the foundation she used and now use it regularly.

One Fine Beauty provided my engagement makeup (Shannon), and my bridal makeup (Marianne). Both Shannon and Marianne were a dream to work with. They truly listened to the look I was after, and provided reassurance throughout (very comforting for someone who is not used to wearing makeup!).
Shannon’s team is an extension of herself - it is clear that she hand picks her team and ensures the quality is consistent. Marianne created a wonderful look for me during my wedding trial which I was very happy with, and she somehow made it look even better on the wedding day. I felt amazing, and the makeup lasted throughout the day into the early hours.
