Meet the team
Hi, I’m Dani; the floral designer behind Black Cat Florist, a private floral studio based in Calgary, Alberta. I work primarily on weddings and special events, creating garden-inspired floral designs with an emphasis on movement, texture, and thoughtful detail.
My path to floristry began through my love of art and nature. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from Alberta University of the Arts (2015), and later earned a Floral Design Certificate from Mount Royal University. What started as a creative curiosity grew into a full-fledged passion, and in 2023 I officially launched Black Cat Florist.
Each event is entirely custom, with flowers sourced and ordered specifically for your day. Because I work out of a private studio (not a retail shop), I’m able to focus fully on curating cohesive, intentional designs that reflect your style and tell your story.
When I’m not flowering, you can usually find me with my partner Owen and our two cats—Kiki and Max—who inspired the name Black Cat Florist and continue to be my constant (and occasionally chaotic) muses.
