Joel Lalonde has been a professional DJ in Ottawa for over 20 years. He started his career working for some of the largest DJ companies in Ottawa, after which he branched out on his own to provide his clients with personalized services. If you are getting married in the Ottawa-Gatineau area (and beyond), he is the DJ to contact for incredible entertainment and pure professionalism on your wedding day. Services Offered
The standard wedding package includes (don't be fooled by others who charge for additional services):
- A state-of-the-art professional sound system, able to entertain up to 300 guests
- A professional light show
- A wireless microphone
- Eight hours of continuous (and fantastic) music
- Travel and parking within the Ottawa-Gatineau area
- Early arrival before your first guest arrives
- Setup and tear down of equipment
- Coordination and delivery of the grand entrance, bouquet and garter toss, etc.
- An English, French, or bilingual service
- A full timeline of your wedding day
- A DJ who is dressed in formal attire, unless told otherwise
- A DJ with a university degree in engineering and business, who is also certified in project & event management
How He Works
As the bride and groom, you deserve to have direct access and an opportunity to meet with your DJ before your wedding day. This is something that companies generally do not offer. Upon booking your wedding date, you will be sent an in-depth wedding planner that lists every imaginable detail about your special day. A one-hour consultation will also be booked three weeks before your wedding day to go over all the details and to meet your DJ in person.

Excellent DJ
Joel was spectacular as a DJ at our wedding. He knew how to read the crowd and keep us on the dance floor. He also did an awesome job as an MC. Thank you Joel! :)

Joel was absolutely fantastic, do not hesitate to hire him for your wedding! He was a consummate professional throughout the day, and kept the dance floor going for hours! All of our guests loved his work. Joel was also so helpful in nailing down the timeline for the day, he had great attention to detail and a wealth of knowledge, and was committed not just to the audio, but to making our wedding day a success on the whole.

Joel was the DJ and MC at our wedding in August 2023.
We found him while researching DJ services on Wedding Wire, back in 2019. Our wedding was scheduled to take place in the summer of 2020, but we had to postpone twice due to the pandemic. During that time, Joel was very understanding and accommodating.
In preparation for our big day, we completed a comprehensive questionnaire that covered various aspects of our preferences, including music and the age groups of our guests. Subsequently, we had a Zoom meeting with Joel to iron out all the details. We were thoroughly impressed by his professionalism, his passion for his craft as well as his extensive knowledge of the wedding industry.
On the wedding day itself, Joel demonstrated his exceptional DJ'ing and MC'ing skills! His song selections, which included some from our own playlist, were impeccable, and his ability to gauge and engage the crowd was on point. He was able to MC in both English and French which was a bonus, having both Anglophone and Francophone family members and friends in attendance. He did a phenomenal job energizing everyone at the reception, and from the moment the dancefloor opened until the conclusion of the reception, we all had a smashing time. To this day, we are still receiving compliments on the music from our guests.
We can confidently say that Joel's outstanding services will not disappoint. He is truly talented, and on top of that, he is extremely friendly!

Best DJ I could have ever asked for.
I would recommend Joel to anybody who is having a wedding/event. He was amazing and kept everyone dancing on the dance floor. He took requests, had amazing lighting equipment and was an amazing MC. Glad I stumbled across his name from another review. Amazing.

Joel brought the party to our wedding
Joel was absolutely amazing! The #1 feedback we’ve heard from our wedding is that it was one of the more fun weddings our guests had been to, and we all attribute this to Joel and his epic DJ skills. We were blown away by his ability to read the room and keep the dance floor going literally all night, all the way to last call and closing time. Our guests were loving it. We also really appreciated having a consultation with Joel in days leading up to the wedding to chat about our music preferences, timelines, coordination with our emcees, and other important details. He took everything we said and packaged it into such a fun, lively party. He is also incredibly friendly and easy to work with.

Best Wedding DJ
We got married this weekend and Joel was amazing! Our wedding guests and even our planner were all raving about him. He had people dancing the whole night - I even had groomsmen tell me they kept trying to go for a smoke or to the bathroom and having to run back because he kept playing "bangers", in their words. Old and young were dancing all night. Highly recommend! He was also very professional and responsive. Our wedding planner says she is definitely going to reccommend him to future clients. He even sent us a video of the last song of the night that he took with his phone!

Not only was Joel an absolute pleasure to work with, he took every curveball and change in schedule that we threw him with kindness, understanding, and support. We planned our wedding in less than 4 weeks, and Joel was incredible throughout the whole process despite the extremely short timeframe. 5 star AAA+ service, do not hesitate to hire Joel for your wedding/event!!!

5 Stars All Around
Joel was absolutely the choice we made of any vendor for our wedding. He was professional, flexible and super knowledgeable. We had many requests and changes throughout the process and Joel was so accommodating each time. On the day of the wedding he was super prepared for any scenario and schedule changes that had to happen and made everything so easy.
Beyond his professionalism, he's also a really really good DJ! He played the perfect mix for all ages and had the party going all night long with a packed dance floor that had the best time.
We received so many compliments for the music and would recommend Joel to anyone getting married.

An excellent wedding DJ! Hire Joel!
Joel was easy to book and communicate with. He had an AMAZING music planning pdf that helped us even plan our day, let alone the music. He read the room, came prepared, and had people dancing all night long. Thank you so much Joel for being part of our special day!
