NBCo. is an authentic Texas style barbecue caterering company. They enjoy the casual and fun side of cooking and don’t believe in just putting out a buffet of reheated food. Keeping events fresh and interactive with on-site meat smoking and slicing is their main focus. NBCo. doesn't have to “try” and make anything look authentic, thier food and process is about as authentic as barbecue can get. All of the meats get smoked on the big cooker day of, never reheated. They model themselves in the old-school Texas ways and don’t hide behind any sauce or even have gas/electric burners. NBCo. only offer hormone/antibiotic free black angus beef from Creekstone Farms in Arkansas, fatty cattle that’s been bred for low and slow cooking. They believe that if you respect the quality and process you’ll be able to taste the difference!

Northbound Barbecue Company focuses on classic wood fired cooking techniques. Their 5,000 lbs Lang Smoker can can handle everything from a single steak to big brisket for 500+ people events. They source local naturally duroc pork and poultry. Meat should taste like meat, so they start with the very best cuts available. NBCo.'s barbecue style is based on the old-school Texas ways but with a unique Canadian flare. All of the southern inspired sides offered, from dressings to pickles, are made in-house from scratch. Thomas, NBCo.'s owner, studied at George Brown’s chef training program and worked in two kitchens listed on Toronto Life's - Best New Restaurant list before making the switch to barbecue. He practiced and honed his smoking skills while becoming the Pitmaster and developing the meat programs at both Barque Smokehouse and Adamson Barbecue in Toronto.

Best Brisket! Great Service!

What a wonderful meal for our intimate wedding. We always heard back within 24 hours with answers to any questions we had. They delivered on time and so fresh. Our guests were raving about the brisket as well as the pulled pork. The servings were more than enough on the Tailgater package for our 25 guests, plus bride and groom. Thank you for helping us create a perfect day!!!

Absolutely delicious!

Our venue recommended Northbound since we were having a barn wedding and we couldn't be happier! The barbecue vibe not only fit our aesthetic but the food was seriously amazing. As soon as we looked at the mouth-watering menu and learned that they would be bringing the meat smoker on site, we were hooked. Thomas was a joy to work with and was eager and willing to help with accommodations for dietary restrictions and allergies, and making suggestions on how to design our menu for the best possible experience for us and our guests. He was also very understanding and patient when our numbers were uncertain due to the pandemic, which was so appreciated!

Now for the actual food. We selected the brisket, chicken, ribs, and pulled pork, along with kale salad, potato salad, and coleslaw. For cocktail hour we had shrimp cocktail, gazpacho shooters, and pork belly. And WOW!!!! Everything was incredible! I cannot stress this enough, every single guest RAVED about the food! Lots of them even said it was the best dinner they'd ever had at a wedding. My husband and I (when we finally were able to sit down with our plates) were in heaven eating it all--everything was so well-seasoned and juicy and just perfect! I highly recommend Northbound if you are having a rustic/barn wedding, it will be the perfect addition to your day!

Best Brisket ever

Was the best food I have ever had. All my guest couldn’t stop talking about the food. And there set up was so cute. There wasn’t anything left that’s how good it was people couldn’t stop eating.

Delicious and high quality!

You can't go wrong with Northbound BBQ. Truly, the best meal we could have possibly asked for - rave reviews from all attendees. Matched our setting perfectly. We had it prepared offsite and it arrived fresh and hot. Excellent.

Amazing food

To say our guests were obsessed with the food at our wedding is the understamtent of the century. Thomas and team absolutely killed it. From the set up, the service, the UNREAL food and the clean up, they executed everything so perfectly. We can’t thank them enough. Our guests are still raving about how we had the best brisket at our wedding. It is something our guests will remember forever and we are forever grateful!!

100% Delicious!!!

We used Northbound Barbecue Company in early August for our small backyard wedding. Their tailgate package suit out theme and budget perfectly. The brisket was SPECTACULAR, as were the pork ribs, chicken and trio of salads. All incredibly delicious! We even used their barbecue rub as part of the wedding favours given to our guests. I'm the owner and Chief Executive of Barbecue Affairs at Northbound Barbecue Co. I studied culinary chef training at George Brown College and proceeded to work in the fast paced kitchens of some of Toronto’s most popular restaurants including two featured on Toronto Life’s – Best New Restaurants 2015 & 2017.

Passionate about meat and intrigued about cooking with live fire, I made the move from fine dining to barbecue. It didn’t take long for me to level up to “Pitmaster” status of several barbecue institutions downtown including Barque Smokehouse and Adamson Barbecue.
