Good food, not impressed with the service
We had our wedding at the Ukraina Country Club in September 2018. The customer service was good... until the wedding got closer. When we had our rehearsal in the ceremony space outside, Svetlana started to lock up without telling us. We had to cut the rehearsal short (which we paid our vendors for), and run inside to grab our keys and purses. Not to mention that I wanted to decorate more, as the wedding was the next day. This was around 5pm, so it's not like it ran late.Sent on 26/10/2018
During the reception, the parent tables were served last, and our flower girl didn't get the food we ordered her. It went to someone else instead. She sat there and waited over an hour. She's two.
Also, we paid for and agreed that we had the hall until 2am. My DJ said he was told at 1am to play the last song and pack up. When he announced the last song, I went over and said no, I paid everyone until 2. Of course, he was happy to stay and keep the party going. However, the hall staff turned the lights on and started vacuuming around my guests. They were also taking the table cloths and moving around my decor around 1am.
Finally, one of the first things we asked about was weather, since the ceremony was outside. Svetlana assured us that, in case of rain or ridiculous heat, her staff could move all of the chairs inside to the room downstairs within half hour. Perfect!
No. This hall was rented out for a Quinceanera the same night. We didn't even know this until we went outside to do our first look and we heard the bass from their speakers. I'm desperately hoping that our videographer can drain it out. If not, that's a huge moment ruined.
Also, guests from the party downstairs were parking with my guests and trying to walk into our ceremony space. My husband said he was basically a security guard, watching for people he didn't recognize. The groom should not be watching for strangers crashing the ceremony... he should be greeting guests that drove hours to see us.
While we did have all of these unfortunate things happen, it would have been fine if we got even an apology. When my husband called a few days after the wedding, he was completely civil... at first. Then, it was an argument of him being told he was wrong. When he mentioned we'd be writing this review, they offered us a free mother's day brunch to make it all better.
All in all, the space was nice, the food was good, the bartender, Vince, was fantastic. If we had gotten an apology or some kind of sincere words, I likely wouldn't have written about all of the things that we were unhappy with. I don't regret picking the venue. It would have been nice to be warned about this stuff ahead of time though.
