Very important is to have food tasting, it was salty when we had the food tasting and we recommend not to make salty during the wedding. I would like to advice to make it clear regarding the bar if you paid portion of it. The bar tender gave the drinks to the guests for free and exceed to what we discussed. They said there's a cart for picture taking and welcome the couple and I never see it!!! I don't see any staff to ask about it when we arrived. The rest are good and perfect. Affordable but frustrating and some BAD Last Minute Surprises
We chose this place because they had a very good discount on Weddingwire. Initially we had considered having our ceremony at this site, but soon found out that their ceremony site was located in a long narrow vertical strip of lawn beside the ugly parking lot. When we quoted that our wedding would be around 300-400 people, Melissa, the events coordinator and the main person we dealt with, mentioned that everyone could stand for the whole ceremony. The space is absolutely not big enough for 300-400 people, and asking people to stand, especially seniors and people with disabilities, or children/babies is not exactly a good recommendation. We did decide to go with this venue for our reception as they had a nice ballroom with a glass vaulted ceiling. We liked the spaciousness and style of the ceiling, however, even on that very first tour, I had immediately asked if the black tulle that they lined all the posts and ceiling with could be removed as I felt it looked quite hideous. Melissa, who is not Chinese, made numerous culturally unaware comments about how black is a good-luck colour for Chinese weddings. Not all Chinese people believe in superstitions around colour. Despite all this, she had mentioned that it would not be a problem, as long as we could arrange for it to be put back up by our own decorations team.
When our team arrived to help take down the tulle before our wedding, their staff refused to let them take it down. Melissa then explained that it was too much work, or they required Decor "specialists" and "professionals" to take it down, and since our decorations team consisted of our friends and family, they would not be able to permit them to do so. I was quite upset as we had confirmed that we would be able to remove the tulle only to find out the day before our wedding that it would not be removed. Furthermore, Wedding Decor is not a standardized/regulated profession, not to mention our friends and family are very experienced with Decorations and in fact have done numerous weddings, and are probably better than most available vendors. It was all quite upsetting as I really hated that black tulle even when I had seen pictures of the venue before ever visiting it.
On the day of our reception, the sound quality was absolutely terrible. The mic cut in and out frequently and would also completely disconnect. This made all our wedding games very difficult for the emcees.
Overall, dealing with Melissa was frustrating. She would often give us wrong information that we would only find out about later, including costs for substitutions for food, napkins, linens, etc. For instance quoting to us that the cost of white and black linens were included in the package price, and then later telling us that the white linens we wanted would actually cost us per item, only to have to be corrected later by Angela, the food and beverage manager, that they were still included in the price of the package. There were also a number of times that she was late for meetings, or unreachable for prolonged days at a time, even in the middle of the workday. Despite talking frequently about how she also has done a lot of wedding coordination/decor in her own private business, she often did not seem to know what she was talking about as she would flip-flop back and forth about her answers when it came to this venue and the cost/fees of each item/package. Luckily, Angela, the food and beverage manager, was very helpful and was able to give us firm quotes/answers and accommodate our requests. We were able to tailor our wedding menu to include butternut squash ravioli, and received many compliments from our guests that the food was quite good.
Overall, if you do not have strong feelings about the black tulle, or don't mind black table linens, and bad sound quality/systems this is a good and affordable venue for you. I think I would still recommend bringing your own sound system if you don't mind the black tulle/table linens. We were able to get white table linens for our event in the end after we fought hard for it as it is what was quoted to us before we had signed the contract. It would also be a good idea to get Angela's phone number early to make sure you can get firm answers for your questions.

Choosing Eaglequest Golf to be the venue for our wedding was such an easy decision and a very good one. They were the first place I inquired and was impressed with their quick response. Melissa was very professional and detailed and went out of her way to recommend vendors, provide ideas and valuable suggestions. Everyone had high praises about the food and the decor. We would like to personally thank the staff of Eagle Quest for their wonderful service from the early stage of my enquiry regarding my parent's 50th wedding anniversary celebration . They have accommodated all our requests and the venue was ready the day before the event. The food was prepared fresh and they all tasted good too. Thanks to the kitchen staff for attending to all our needs. Also appreciated the fact that they could put a special order of our native lechon. There were no glitches and no issues at all from the very start till the end of the event. Also a huge thanks to Melissa Ortanez, the Marketing and Events Director for her efficiency, helpfulness and pleasing personality.
