Well, I’m a Project Manager by trade and am uber organized so although some think I’m nuts for starting to plan our wedding over 2 yrs early, since we both work full time and have a 4 yr old, I know the time will fly by. We’re planning on buying a house in the spring of 2020 so we’ve decided to hold off on putting down any down payments for vendors until our house is in the works, but I’m hoping to be able to do a lot of the ground work now so when that happens we can just move forward quickly (at least with the Big 5). As a blessing and a curse, my groom has said the wedding details are all up to me, “I will go with whatever you want, you’re the one who’s been planning this since you were 5”, he just wants to have a full vest (not a “bib”), no cheese on the entrée and for the venue to serve Labatt Blue (his beverage of choice). Besides, he’s only been to 1 wedding whereas I’ve been to all of my friends’ weddings (and some of their second weddings) so he doesn’t understand why it’s important to choose the colour and finalize the guest list. We’re both in our 40s, so our guest list is smaller and just want to have a great time without breaking the bank. We both respect that a wedding, although an important day, is just the first day our marriage, which lasts the rest of our life. So any advice on how to save a dime without compromising a great day, would be greatly appreciated.

Happily married 🎉
