The story of our wedding
When Steve and I first got engaged in 2017 we knew we wanted to get married a little over a year from then. Giving us plenty of time to plan and plan the perfect day for us. Knowing just how fast venues book we wanted to lock in our wedding venue as soon as we could so we could get planning the details. We look at 3 venues before we decided on "the one". This for us, was Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario.
Last summer we had a total of 5 wedding to attend, 4 of those I was a bridesmaid in. It was one of the busiest summers of our lives but one of the BEST.
Shortly after our venue was booked we started to look for a wedding planner. The two of us both work really long hours so we wanted some help from a planner to take the stress off of us. We wanted to really enjoy the day of our wedding and also give our moms and friends the opportunity to enjoy the day as well. I had my eye on Lexi from Lexington and Co for quite a few years now. I knew she would be the one to help us plan our perfect day. From the very beginning to the end of our wedding night she was absolutely amazing. Everyone fell in love with her energy, attention to detail, and of course her sense of design.
Fast forward to the day of the wedding....
I had a total of 8 bridesmaids so it was a SUPER early start for us. Most of the girls slept over the night before at our house in Milton so we could be up bright and early. Makeup and hair commenced at 6:00 am. Assaf (our photog - who is AMAZING) showed up around 10:30 to shoot us getting ready and having some fun.
Before we knew it, it was time to get in the limo to go. Of course, the air conditioning in the limo wasn't working, so we were dying in the limo. Luckily it turned on halfway through our ride. The groomsmen were at my in-law's place in Port Credit getting ready.
The limo was late picking them up...of course! But as always, everything always works out and the limo did of course eventually show up. They made it to the venue a little late, but in time for the big event!!
September 15th, 2018 was THE hottest day of the year, I swear. The outdoor chapel had to close the top because of the sun. People were melting! At 2:30 pm it was time to get married!!!
Wellington Music played live during the ceremony and the cocktail hour. It was beautiful and totally set the perfect vibe for the day.
Our guests enjoyed cocktails and some charcuterie styled food while we did family and wedding party photos.
Dinner was set for 5:30 pm. We had a sneak peek at the room when Assaf was in to take photos prior to guests seeing it. It was absolutely stunning. The floor with our names on it was so beautiful. I'll never forget it. So personal.
Kelly's Bake Shoppe, based out of Burlington, Ontario did an incredible job on our wedding cakes and sweet table. People were in awe at how amazing everything looked.
Statue Rue did an incredible job on our stationery and prints... so soft and elegant.
Tellie at Hunt and Gather, my floral goddess!!! People STILL talk about the flowers at our wedding. They were jaw-dropping. If I could have them in my house every day, I would.
Once dinner commenced, speeches were next followed by party time!
586 Event Group really got our guests on the dancefloor. People loved how open they were to requests and really read our guests.
I wish we could have continued later into the night but all amazing things have to come to an end. Plus, we had a flight to catch the next day to California for our honeymoon. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding day. We both got to marry our best friend!
