Ian and Jade's wedding in Parry Sound, Ontario

19 Sep, 2020The story of our wedding
Ian and I had a wonderful very very tiny wedding. Due to COVID, our already small wedding had been reduced to 10 people max. We chose to keep it at that in case restrictions changed before our date. My family was stuck in the States and could not attend. Instead we had a live feed so they could watch. In a way, it felt like we were able to share with more people than we expected to originally have.
The lake house was beautiful. Mother nature granted us a warm weekend. It did rain right before our ceremony which kept us inside. But they say its good luck for it to rain on your wedding day. It just made the scenery even more breathtaking.
Our wedding was DIY everything, almost. We did buy a few things. Everyone chipped in to help. I cooked and made the cake and candles. My good friend stepped in to take pictures since my sister, a photographer, could not be with us. Ian’s best man made a wonderful beer station. My besties, MOH and bridesman, brewed our beer. Ian’s mother put together the charcutier board for cocktail hour. My family sent flowers that we incorporated into the wedding and my bouquet. Even the dogs chipped in, as planned, to walk me down the isle. Finally, Ian picked wildflowers from one of the fields for my bouquet. The group effort made everything that more special.

Coffee n front of the picture window looking at the lake and turning trees. Hanging out at the dock to practice our wedding parade. Clear night with a blanket of stars twinkling down. We couldn’t ask for more.
