Hi, I'm Reuben, and I can't wait to help you plan the best party of your life!
I have been performing with and leading the Phonix since 2009 and have performed over 500 shows with the band. There's nothing I like more than being on stage and sharing my band's music and fun with everyone on the dance floor.
Since finishing my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies degree from Capilano University, I have been working as a trumpet player, pianist, vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader.
My unique history of blending administrative roles with formal music study and extensive performance experience make me a valuable asset to your wedding or event. I am very easy to work with thanks to my systematic approach to getting things done and my personable, soft-spoken and small-town (originally from Naramata, BC) demeanor.
When I'm not busy with events and music projects, I enjoy growing vegetables, making great meals for friends and dreaming up creative ways to make the world a more efficient and caring place.
The most awesome guy you can hang out with, who just so happen to manage the partiest band in town. Eric studied jazz saxophone under renowned artists Campbell Ryga and Mike Allen. He attained a Bachelor of Jazz Studies from Capilano University, a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music Education in Curriculum Studies from UBC. From 2009-2018, Eric was the Music Director of John Oliver Secondary where he runs a music program of 300+ students. In 2009, he received the Don Wright Scholarship in Instrumental Education in recognition for his achievement in instrumental education. In addition, Eric was nominated for the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award in 2015.
With the PHONIX band and photobooth, Eric is the guy you call if you want to bring down the house!
